Clomid not working!! Soooo confused!

Hi all, this is my first time posting on here, thought it was about time i started joining in rather than just watching!
We have been TTC since our wedding in August. I started using OPK's and discovered i wasn't ovulating. Long story cut short, i was diagnosed with PCOS and i'm now on my first Clomid 50mg cycle. Currently on CD26 and no 'peak' fertility detected on CBFM, just 'high' all cycle. Also day 21 progesterone only 1.1. I'm so confused as to why it hasn't worked. I've been prescribed 50mg for 3 months, so not due to go back to see fertility specialist until August!!! I'm wondering whether to double up my dose for my next cycle and take 100mg? BUT then that would leave me with a month without any clomid at all!!!! SOOOOO confused! Any ideas ladies???

I would say you need to try and get in touch with your FS and explain your results to them. They are the only ones who can decide whether to double up your dose. I do find it a little odd that they have left you on your own with that for 3 months before seeing them again. I have been prescribed 50mg Clomid for 6 months but when i finally get an AF to start it I will be having follicle scans to make sure it is working and if not they can double the dose or whatever. I know not every FS does the scans but I would have thought he would have kept an eye on your day 21 bloods. They are there for anything you are unsure of though so give them a ring.

Thanks for your advice, i know its really difficult to get an appointment with my FS because she's so busy and her clinics are always overbooked, but i'll give them a ring and see if i can get in sooner. She doesn't do the follicle scans, just relies on day 21 progesterone results. I really wish she did the scans though, i wanna know whats going on in there!

I'm in teh same boat hun. Not even a high from my cbfm yet! If it doesn't work I am high and dry til July with only one dose left which may not even work again - and if i've not ov'd on this dose, who's to say i will even get a period in order to take my last dose!

I would speak to your gp about doubling up. They should be able to help. Mine actually SAID to me, if it doesn't work double the dose but am on second dose now so can't double up!

I was on clomid for 8 months and it didn't work for me. My FS kept upping the dose and then added metformin. We wound up switching to Femara and I finally was developing a follicle large enough to release an egg. Clomid might not be the drug for you and the dose you are on might not be the right dose.

Thanks everyone, Well i managed to change my appointment with FS from 16th August to 14th June! So i feel much happier now , so i think i'll give the clomid 50mg another shot with this next cycle and see what my day 21 bloods say. i'm on CD 26 now and got a feeling this is going to be a long(ish) cycle, last months was 37 days. My boobies aren't sore yet, and that usually happens for about 12 days prior to AF arriving. I'm beginning to wonder if sore boobies are linked to ovulation? Maybe i ovulate late? Who knows , still BD'ing every other day just in case!

I know how you feel. I just started taking 50mg last week and went in today to see if I developed any follicles and nothing They had me start right away today on clomid again but this time 100 mg. I have been trying EVERYTHING. guess i'll see on monday when i go back in if the 100 mg worked! Good luck and hopefully you will get your BFP soon!

My fisrt cycle was 50mg and it didn't work at all. Last month was 100mg and I had 2 mature follicles.. I would call and get a new perscription called in.

My second round hasn't worked so my GP has prescribed me another 5 tablets so I can double up on my next round. Maybe speak to your gp about getting a second dose? xxx
