Clomid question....

after how long of TTC would a doc prescribe Clomid? I know I dont ovulate cause I dont have periods.... can I just ask her if I can try it?

I went to see my doctor after nine months of trying because I was bleeding between periods. So they did a blood test which showed I wasn't ovulating. I was then referred to a gynaecologist who prescribed the Clomid.

It's worth going to see your doctor first and they'll probably send you for a blood test.

We don't get referred for that until we've at least TTC for 18 months
So now we're at that point and I've just started my very 1st Clomid cycle

Really? The moment I told my doctor we want to start try have a baby she immediately prescribed clomid 50 mg... Is it because I have PCOS?

Oh i have no idea... but we saw our GP right when we first started TTC and he didn't prescribe me anything. Then when we went back to say we've been trying for so long and nothing has happened... that's when I get referred to the hospital. And it's at the hospital that prescribes me Clomid + HCG shot as I'm doing my 1st IUI this month!!

Hi im new to this so ima need yall help im 25yrs old & me & my husband lost our baby 12/7/10 we already have 2 boys 7 & 4 went to the doctor for a appt. And they said they didnt see a heart beat I was sooo hurt I thought it was my doin but they said u did everything rite so they gave me a pill they said I can take it by mouth or put it... Well u know I went home took a hot bath did what they said it was the worst feeling ever ok to make a long story short I got my first period in mar,april,may,june but not heavy or long one month long days some months 2days thats it
im not ovulatin went to the doctor he told me if I have 2boys at home we can get pregnant if I dnt get pregnant in a yr come back he never looked at me or did any blood work so I made a diff appt. Some where else my question is will they put me on anything to make me ovulate? Its been 6months no ovulating someone help me im going crazy :\

you should post a thread abt this, I dont rlly have any experience with this but Im sure some of the other girls do so post a new thread exactly what you wrote here and someone should have some advice for u

No, I'm in the US.

ahhh,
see we have NHS which ( at my age) make u wait 18 months TTC b4 u can get any help and/or testing, but with pcos they work a bit faster thank God!

My doctor won't even investigate anything never mind prescribe clomid because we've only been trying 9 months, he said he wont do anything until the year mark (even though I am on CD100 and I went and paid privately to find out why I am not having a period which turned out to be PCOS)

Total tossbag (excuse the language) lol

Oh and he even said himself because I'm not having a period then I am most likely not ovulating so no chance of getting pregnant by ourselves......but still won't help until a year!

I just did a post ranting about your doctor, wasnt very nice language apparantly cause it has to be read b4 posting lol!! But the jist is- get a new Doc, u dont deserve him giving u the brush off, if u have PCOS and aint ovulating.... you need to see a Gyno asap

Thanks, I know!!! he is a f***ing tosser!!! (sorry but he makes me so angry!)

We should never have had to go an pay to find out why I haven't had a period in 100 days! and he STILL won't help! So we are having to borrow money to get the clomid we need privately aswell.
