Clomid - Round 2 Anyone?

I am TTC baby #2 and I'm on cycle day 7. I took clomid (50 mg) 5 yrs ago and conceived DS on the first round. I thought it would be just as easy this time - but I was mistaken! I had a 43 day cycle last month w/tons of BFN's and I had the world's most heaviest period. I am actually still bleeding (7 days into my new cycle). Dr. wants me to start prometrium tablets (progesterone) to help stop the heavy period and regulate me. She thinks I didn't ovulate last cycle, but on CD 16 I did have a ton of discomfort in the area of my right ovary!?! Since I already started my 2nd round of clomid (50 mg) again - she said to just go ahead and take the rest of the pills and come in on CD 21 for a progesterone BT (although she doesn't think clomid will do the trick this month due to the heavy period). I've never taken the progesterone before - has anyone else? She prescribed 200mg twice each night for 12 days? What symptoms did you have if you took this? Will the progesterone help me to conceive? I'm so very confused!!
