Clomid to conceive Number 1?

Anyone else currently on Clomid to conceive number one. Need a buddy. Will be starting first cycle in 3 weeks time.

Feeling very apprehensive...so worried about it not working!!

Hey everyone. I just saw an ob/gyn this week because of irregular periods. As we began to touch on how long I've been TTC (it will be one year in April, my ticker is for how long I've tracked ovulation) she suggested getting an HSG done as well as an ultrasound and some tests for hormones. She said I can wait on the HSG or get it done now. The dr also brought up trying Clomid and mentioned she has had success using this with her patients, but she would want me to have the HSG first.
I have a follow up appt on the 30th of March. I just want to ask if any of you ladies have any formal diagnosis or unexplained and thus put on clomid. As of today, I don't have any diagnosis that I know of.
I just also want to say that I feel very lonely in all of this. I have no one I can talk to about it as everyone seems to get pregnant in two seconds and I just don't want to bring up that I've been unsuccessful in a years time I know it could be worse, but I never imagined I wouldn't be able to do it on my own.

TwoTiels - my periods disappeared so I went to see a specialist and was diagnosed with PCOS. Clomid is prescribed to people who don't ovulate (like me) or people with low quality eggs. I had an HSG done before I started, that's basically to make sure that once Clomid has you ovulating there's nothing else stopping the eggs getting to where they need to be!!

LouOscar01 – how many months are they giving you? It worked on my first month but ended in chemical, and this pregnancy was a result of the third month!

My tips are to use Preseed, avoid OPK’s and just DTD every other day from CD10-CD20. OPK’s are affected by a lot of the conditions which cause women to be on Clomid e.g. PCOS and give incorrect results. I could do one every day of the month and 90% of the time they would be a blaring positive…nowhere near ovulation!

I've got 6 months worth. After 3 I'm supposed to double the dosage to 100mg. Been off Provera for 4 days now and no period yet. Feeling so despondent.

Was just reading this thread. I've been on clomid plenty for baby #1. Provera can take your period up to 10 days to start. 1st month I used it it took 11 days. The other months it only took a few days. Good luck!

Yep progesterone pills (like Provera) bring my AF on after 5 days, but for some people it's a couple of weeks! Are you going to have blood tests to see if you're ovulating on 50mg? If you don't ovulate at that dose (I didn't) it seems pointless to do another 2 months on the same dose before moving to 100mg. I would push for those blood tests!

This month was my first cycle on clomid. I did 10 years of BCP which through off my ovulating (was having periods just not actually producing an egg) and so after 8 months finally turned to the DR for help
Guess I should add I have endometriosis. Last Tuesday I had an ultrasound and had 1 good follicle so they gave me an LH shot... going in later today for a progesterone test... my Dr said after 3 months if clomid doesn't work then we'll do testing to see if there is a blockage

Hi girls, I have just been put on my first month of clomid. I was diagnosed with pcos and very nervous as to if it will work or not. Like many of you i never thought I woulvd have a problem but after 10 years of trying I am getting very desperate now. Good luck

hello! Hubby and I have been TTC up until this month with just metformin and temping. For the first 6months my charts looked like I was ovulating (2nd month of the six was confirmed with blood tests). But eventually I stopped ovulating on my own. I was given provera to start my period and I am on CD3 now. Tomorrow I am going in for an US and then start 50mg of clomid on Wed! I am excited and nervous but hope it works. baby dust to all!

Did anyone have symptoms/side effects with Clomid? I normally get all the side effects possible for any medication but for this I had zero side effects

I had hot hot hot hot flashes!! At night but also during the day...my colleagues thought I was mad!! As O approached I would start to feel crampy in the ovary area with a very localized pain when I actually popped the egg. I didn't mind though, I found it fascinating to 'feel' my body working!!

So this is my first cycle on clomid. I went in for my follicular ultrasound on the 17th with was CD 15 for me. I had a mature follicle and received my LH shot around 10am. We BDed on the 17th and 19th as instructed by the nurses (we also had done it on the 14th). Monday I went in on CD 21 for my progesterone test and yesterday I got my results: 13.99
The nurse said they normally like to see them in the 20s... after that she said "see you next cycle" and hung up.
Can anyone maybe help me understand a little? Does that mean I didn't ovulate at all? or just that I didn't conceive?
