cloth nappies...need help please

so my LO uses disposable nappies! but i really want to start using cloth nappies, but dont know where to get them from? and how many i need etc.

so can you ladies offer me some advice,
where do i get them from?
how many would i need?
sounds stupid but how are they washed?

there very simple questions but im a cloth nappy virgin
