Just a little whinge about my clothes!!

I don't really want to go out buying any kind of maternity wear just yet as I'm only 13 weeks but honestly, I am just living in my tracksuit bottoms now and I feel pretty slobby! I've been wearing stretchy skirts with tights when I go out, which is mostly ok, but after a while the tights start to make my belly ache and I just have to take them off as soon as I get home.

I stopped wearing jeans ages ago as they hurt. I tried leaving the button undone, but then they just slipped down :D Am I too early to be trying belly bands? I don't see how your jeans will stay up when you're wearing one, as you still have to leave the button undone. Am I being a bit dim??

I don't even have a bump, I just get that uncomfy, stretched feeling when I wear anything that sits too tight across my stomach. Sigh!

I am going to buy belly bands this weekend. Everything is feeling super tight. I am only 8 weeks but the bloating is making me huge. I am also buying new bras this weekend too! lol

It seems daft doesn't it? So early on. I guess we just gotta do what we gotta do! :D

never too soon for a belly band! it does a good job of holding your pants up, you can also try just using an elastic band looped through to give you a bit more give, whichever is most comfortable :D

I feel your pain! Do you live in the UK? If so, Dorothy Perkins have stretchy jeans called Eden - they're so comfy!

I bought some maternity stuff recently but sent it back as it was too big and goodness only knows what shape ill be in a few months :(

I tried belly bands but when I found when I sat down or bent over, they would roll up, especially in the back. I find it really annoying to constantly be adjusting them, especially when my pregnancy is still a secret at work, so I stopped wearing them. I'm in maternity clothes now. They are a bit too big but not so much that they don't stay up on their own. I'm much happier this way...not having anything tight around my belly. They do work though, as in they do keep your pants from falling off and make having your pants undone unnoticeable. I did find though that I felt and looked more pregnant wearing the belly bands because my stomach wasn't sucked in so much...it's natural shape showed thru more, but it's not enough for anyone to notice I'm pregnant, and the same type of thing happens with my maternity pants too. I just button my sweater right over that area if I'm feeling self-conscious.

Thanks ladies! I will try looping a band through my jeans and see how I get on. If no good then yeah you are right, gotta do what you gotta do and just spend some money to be more comfortable!

Mrsmac yes I'm in the UK, thanks for the tip! Will look the Eden jeans up now :)

They look really nice, some lovely colours :) I think am going to pop into town tomorrow and try some on!

I walk around the house with my pants permanently undone now and they end up slipping down! I work from home so can get away with it until I get clients then I've gotta cover the belly up. I'm trying to get hold of belly bands (I live in rural Spain so this is gonna be a challenge). The hair band looped through doesn't seem to work too well for me. OH keeps telling me we should go shopping for "special pants"...think he's sick of seeing my bum poking out of the back! x

I saw a silly advertisement on TV a while back for something called "Pajama Jeans" and I laughed it off because REALLY, who would ever wear them? They're like a cotton stretch material made to look like denim... I'm seriously considering ordering a pair or two. :haha:

You can order them online...and they do sort of look like real jeans.

J22 -"special pants" - hahaha! Love it :)

Yeah I work at home also, so really it's fine for me to wear whatever I want, but you know when sometimes you just get sick of feeling like a slob?! DH doesn't mind at all but still, I feel a bit bad that he comes home every day to find me wearing my tracksuit trousers AGAIN

Hey Smiler- Belly bands are like spandex so yes your jeans will stay up when your pants are undone. I've been wearing a belly band since around 12 weeks b/c buttoning my pants put too much pressure on my lower belly and a belt dug into it. I'm not ready for maternity just yet so they're a great way to tide you over until you are. I got mine at Target but I'm not sure if you can get them from there where you are.

Thanks PurpleIvy! It's nice to know ppl do start wearing them at this kind of stage. I know it's silly but because of my mc's I feel funny going out and buying specific pregnancy things before I even have a bump. Though today I did have to buy some bras today as my normal ones are just too uncomfortable now. So if maternity wear is good enough for my boobs then it should be for my belly too haha :D There are quite a few places that sell them here so shouldn't be a problem to find one x

Never too soon, I bough some this weekend but they def do not hold my jeans up! I do the hair band trick and use the band to cover it.

New Look have some great stuff-nothing if you want over the belly, but they have some nice smart trousers which I got for work. They have stretch in the sides, but a pull in band on the indies which you can adjust by moving the button, meaning they sit perfectly now as well as doing so when I need more space.

I'm def going to check out some jeans this weekend-sick of the draught even with the band!

I've been in maternity trousers for the last week and I havnt looked back...they are sooo comfy and cheap too.... Asda £12.00 bargain ;-).xxxx

I've already caved and bought maternity jeans. My pants still fit but when I have them buttoned they are so tight and uncomfortable. Until my pants ge here I'm leaving them unbuttoned & holding them together w/ a rubberband. Theydo stay up w/o but I feel weird if I just walked around work with them completely undone.
