HI Ladies,
I am exclusivley BF but I want to start using colief with my LO, thing is she won't take a bottle at all. I was thinking it might be easiest to add the colief to some fomula and then just use a syringe to give it to her, seems like less hassle than flapping around with syringes of expressed milk. I thought I could get one of those ready mixed cartons, but if I only use a little bit each day, like 5ml, how long can I keep the same carton in the fridge? Also, would it be bad ifI gave her the syringe of formula at room temperature? And could I take some upstairs with me at bedtime and give it to her in the night, or would I have to go and get it out the fridge and warm it up? Sorry to ask so many questions! I just can't find an easy way to give it to her short of injecting it into my nipples!

Don't know the pros / cons of doing it this way but you can keep ready made formula in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Don't see a problem with just giving it to your LO at room temperature - as you are only giving them a little bit not a bottle full.

Did u try Tommee tippee CTN bottles? The teat is soo soft & round, it's the closest thing to mother's breast.

I have tried the Tommy Tippee closer to nature ones, NUK and Avent so far, no joy :( Someome suggested the Breastflow ones though so am going to give them a go, never one to give up! It would be so nice to be able to leave her with my mum or husband for a while so I could go out from time to time!

The instructions on Colief for BF mums is to mix it with a couple of tablespoons of EBM and feed to LO with a spoon...so no need to use bottles or formula :)

I think once you open one of those cartons it only lasts an hour anyway x

I've exclusively BF for 13 weeks and introduced a bottle of formula last week. Emma absolutely hated the Tommee Tippee bottles, she cried every time I gave it to her, and swallowed so much air (probably because she was crying).

I popped into Boots and picked up a Dr. Brown's bottle. She gulps down her milk from that without batting an eyelid!

u can keep an open carton in the fridge for 24 hours.

just a suggestion, maybe try a nipple sheild to get LO on something other than nipple? might work...? x
