Cold dominos pizza?

Disingenuity isn't cute, if you have a problem with something I say, just say it to me.

And calling me sweetie wasn't cute, either :flower:

(Mm I actually wasn't addressing you in particular, lol. I initially had skimmed through the comments on this thread before posting, took note of some appearing to be feisty/haughty, and was simply addressing it in general [as I didn't take note of who each author was]. I did indeed have to go back through the thread to even see why you'd think I was directing anything towards you personally  --- but assumed you probably were the author of at least one such comment, being that you were defensive in the first place =P).

Alas! Am I not allowed to be amused by such comments? ;)

To me stress is more of a risk. Shrug. I don't know how productive this correspondence is........... nor how it can be.................. at this point.................

I actually placed an order at mcdonalds today and turned around and walked back out after seeing a guy standing on the counter loading the soda machine with ice with his bare hands and it rubbing against his shirt and bare arms. My cashier had ice cream all over him and on his head. No one had gloves on and the manager was standing there laughing at the guy loading ice. I called the health department and McDonald's right then and there. I won't even go into what I saw on our side of the counter. Here I was worried about the ice cream machines.. Point is I think we need to be cautious anywhere and keep your eyes open. If you see anything that bothers you leave don't eat there. My craving went away real quick!

I agree it is up to the person what "risks" they are willing to take, especially when it comes to food.

The issue with Listeria and saying, "Well I ate it and I am fine" is b/c you are MORE susectible pregnant to get it. That does not mean in anyway you will though, just a higher risk then if you were not pregnant.

The issue with Mcflurries boggles my mind. I agree, if we were not suppose to have them they would caution for them like they caution about hot dogs, they just don't. Common sense always has to be in consideration when eating out.

Am I cautious with what I eat? Absolutely. I also lost my son at 31 weeks and will do everything in my power to not have that happen again.

So it is OK for anyone to post a comment and their opinion but I think we all look at what we have personally done and I guess what I am saying is we all choose different paths.

The recommendation of what to avoid is different in every country and even states. Im in California and the only thing it says is not pasturized dairy/cheese/fresh juice. Un cooked meat, eggs, fish, and to heat lunch meat. There is limit in tuna and some no no fish. No alcohol or drugs. Pretty basic. Nothing about soft serve or cold pizza.

Obviously they do differ; both those things, and more (hummus, sushi, stuffing) are all on my country's list of foods recommended "Don't eat".

It actually says no cold pizza on your list? And no stuffing? Isn't that just pieces of bread in water? Or is stuffing different there? Like Stove Top?

I think the stuffing is the kind cooked in the poultry because the concern is the stuffing does not reach the neseccary tempature and the fluids from the inside of the bird are absorbed and not heated thoroughly. Hummus isn't on our list but I'm curious the concern with that as I have been eating it for protein.

It says all leftovers must be reheated to steaming, even if refrigerated. I would take that to include cold pizza. Stuffing cooked in the meat is labelled "don't eat", even hot, but stuffing cooked separately is okay. Not sure of reasoning there, maybe the temperature of stuffing cooked in meat is unreliable?

It's crazy how it varies so much country to country, I can't find anything from the NHS that says about not eating cold pizza etc... only to reheat food until piping hot IF you are reheating it. I also found an NHS page that actually recommend hummus as a healthy snack in pregnancy!

It really does vary country by country yet these food posts always rile a few up. :haha:

Its because there are different risks of different disease etc in different countries.

Or because different countries have different standards of vigilance? I'm pretty sure my country has the same or better standards of food health than the US, and our pregnancy guidelines are stricter.

My mother had no guidelines to go by and I am doing just fine at 36! I personally think most of the food regulations are silly. But like I said, "personal opinion".

Why can't people just use common sense!! I don't mean anybody in particular because iv only skimmed the thread. Basic food hygiene will keep you pretty safe. All these banned foods wind me up. Iv never personally been ill from a mcflurry or a dippy egg and iv never ever heard of anybody else being ill either so I think the chances are pretty slim.
Only buy ready made food from places you trust, reheat, wash and store things properly and I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. It's just basically if you usually might risk something like prawns from a dodgy takeaway - don't when you're pregnant.

I've never personally had AIDS nor met anyone with it, so I guess the chances of getting it are pretty slim, but I think I would still use a condom if I was shagging someone and didn't know where he'd been. :haha:

Interesting to read everyone's replies lol i wasn't expecting such a debate to a question about cold pizza haha :)

Saraaa just eat your pizza lol it's turning into a discussion about std's and if we read anymore we'll literally just be drinking water... Filtered of course =)

You are entitled to your opinion but different countries have different recommendations. It does not mean that the US/UK or anywhere else is better then the other. Common sense prevails with this stuff...as many others have said.
