I just ate about 3 big spoons of tesco cheese coleslaw, and now I have found out I wasnt meant to eat coleslaw at all incase I get listeria!!! So after a day of non-worry, now I am terrified again! What do you think??
xxx

Really!? Coleslaw is my craving, ive eaten it all the way through... xx

was gona say tescos is ok - i alwas check to see the milk is paturised!!!

i have eaten it a fair few times with my jacket potato!!

love it!

had a lil craving for it not long ago! and all is fine!

dont worrrrry!

you will be totally fine :) they just want you to be as careful as possible, you will be good!

Thank you! :) I was kinda gessing to that if there was a listeria risk from the batch of coleslaw I ate I prob would have heard about it anyway! And glad its pasturised stuff too. Altthough I REALLY wont be eating it again...I have such horrible heartburn right now lol
Thank you all again xxx

I wanted to avoid anything that had mayonnaise in it because of the raw eggs because of listeria and e coli, but my MIL offered me some coleslaw because it came with her and her family's KFC meals when we were over at their house, and no one in their house likes it. I ate three bowls of it! That was a couple months ago, and baby and I are both fine. I'm sure you will be, too.

Shop bought mayo and products using it hardly ever contain raw eggs. The only time I'd pause before eating something containing it was if I were in a restaurant and the mayo looked homemade.

I wish I could get Hellman's light in Japan :(

Lol..you'll be okay. They say don't eat lunch meat...well I still get my awesome turkey hoagie every now and again. They say don't eat blue cheese, well I still eat my awesome celery sticks dipped in Blue cheese every now and again... When our parents had us, there was no such a thing. I think your fine as long as you eat it in moderation. Its funny how everything that's supposed to be bad for you is number one on your list when your preggo!

I MISS BLUE CHEESE :hugs: Maybe I'll sneak some in later on ;)

Don't worry about the Colslaw. My doc said that most things in the UK are made with paturized dairy so are fine, he just said keep an eye out if things look dodgey yanno kept out under lights, obviously homemade but with no listing as to what was used etc etc. I've been eating some tesco finest colslaw about once a week with jacket spuds n things.

xxxxxx

All shop bought coleslaw is pasteurised but you can always check label and it will say -this is perfectly safe to eat, however if you were in a restaurant it is best to check as mayonnaise is proabably freshly made and there may be a risk as not pasteurised, so avoid x
