I have been having problems getting to the forum because of the colgate ad that keeps appearing.

When I get to BnB, there is a colgate banner at the bottom of the screen. If I click on the X to remove it, it takes me to the colgate website. If I don't, the whole screen is taken over by the colgate ad.
I imagine the whole ad also has an X to close it, but since I am on a mini laptop (eeePC), my screen is smaller and I cannot see the top of the ad with the X. So I have no choice but to let the ad run its course. Then it goes back to a banner at the bottom and I can close it.

As soon as I load another page (forum section or a thread), it comes back and I have to go through the whole process again. :dohh:

Is there anything that can be done?

I hope something can be done because I love it here but won't be spending much time here if this keeps happening. It is driving me crazy!

This is getting ridiculous! I was bothered by these adds ready before but now that this one is at the bottom i cant do anything!!!! Everytime i go to scroll down to read something it takes over the page!!!! I cant even get around the site! Its really starting to piss me off now... im sorry but this is to much.

I'm getting this one as well, lately it seems like all I get on this site are ads that try to take up my entire page.

Here is a screenshot of it.

yikes! ads like that are the reason I use adblock. It won't let any annoying ads load on forums and websites

Happening to me as well. Super annoying, especially since the other week there was a gap pop up ad that made the site practically unusable. Starting to get really frustrated!

My shockwave flash crashed and now I don't have the adds. I had to restart my browser.

zanDark, that add block sounds great!

I am so glad someone has started a thread about this. I am going crazy with this stupid thing.
Would someone mind posting a link to how we block the ads? This ad, amongst others has really crossed the line for me in terms of annoyance and invasiveness.
Hey Momtastic and Colgate - this is exactly how to get me to avoid your websites and boycott your products. This is incredibly rude and in my face. I do NOT appreciate this invasion of my forum time. I don't mind ad banners that are inert - I get that those kind of revenues help fund a free forum that I enjoy. But taking over my entire browser page? That's pretty much the equivalent of coming into my living room while I am reading my book, snatching my book out of my hands, and shoving a poster-size ad in my face. I'm not bloody likely to thank you for that kind of treatment. And I am sure as hell not going to buy your products, either.
This has been happening to me incessantly all day - every time I navigate to a new page on BnB. It is beyond annoying now. I just want to register a protest against this type of advertising and get an adblocker in place. Is there one specific for this forum, or do I have to install one for my whole computer?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. :flower:

Sarahkka I 100% agree with everything you said!

Ahhh I came on here JUST to find out if other people were complaining about this ad....you said it well Sarah....this is just OBNOXIOUS. Makes me want to log out and I'm on BnB every night.

Is there anything you can download to block ads for google chrome? It's getting worse and worse all the time to just try and use this forum. I also am kind of irritated that I need to find an ad blocker for just this site, no other site I visit has ads that literally take up my entire page and re appear every time I go to a new one. I guess I'd be okay if it was just a one off but it was only the other day that the gap ad was coming up every page I went on, there's also a dove ad I get that expands and takes up a portion of my screen and now this. It's not even good marketing, I can't think of any toothpaste I would want less right now.

I agree it's annoying that I had to download an add-on to block the ad. And I also agree I won't be buying colgate toothpaste anytime soon!

I just googled "adblock" and that is what popped up... maybe you could do the same for google chrome? I'm always wary about downloading things to my computer but this add-on works and it seemed legit.

That is a very good point: I don't run into this problem anywhere else.
And I do resent the fact that I have to download an adblocker just to use this site. I'm on a Mac and using Safari. Does anyone know of any good ones?

And perhaps we need to send a polite protest into the admin?
As I said before, I have no problem with the inert banners. I can choose to click on those. It's this type of rolling ad that is so obnoxious.

is anyone getting the elastoplast banner at the top? it's on every page and sometimes spreads to the sides changing the purple area to blue?

Thank you for the screenshot this is really important with any ad problems.

I have forwarded the issue to the ad team and hope to have it resolved asap.

While I am sorry these have caused annoyance and I agree these ads look very annoying and 200% agree these ads should not be disrupting your forum time the admin (me) does not place these ads on the website and I assure you I pass on every piece of feedback when the problems have arised to show your frustration however as the middle person I don't wish to be spoken AT like this. You do not need to take up a 'polite protest' with me, thank you!

I am also on different times to those it seems to be effecting so it may take a little longer to see the problem.

Threads closed... I understand the annoyance but I don't really tolerate the rudeness.

I have acknowledged this problem, sent the issue to the relevant team and attached all your feedback so please do not reopen the same problem in another thread.

This ad should now be removed.

If you experience further problems with the same ad please PM me.

Thanks
