I know we are now being told not to make up powered milk and store it in the fridge but everyone i know who has had a baby has done this and they have always been fine.
I have been using sma gold and am making up about 5 or 6 feeds in advance and then heating them from the fridge, is anyone else doing this?

Lo is suffering from colic and was wondering if i could be to blame by making up the bottles? Am using infacol but doesn't seem to be helping with the colic.

I was advised to swtich to cow and gate comfort or aptamil easy digest, but nether of these come in ready made cartons and I like the idea of having the carton option for when I am out and about.

Any suggestions/comments?

We use sma ready made and ive always made my feeds in advance too, i think most people do it despite the guidelines

I make my feeds up in advance, usually 5 or 6 at a time. As for the colic, I don't think it's the making up of feeds causing it. For the colic I would suggest switching bottles, we changed form Avent to TT and it helped Freya loads. Find a bottle that's good for you. :)

we are using dr browns as recommended by alot of people, not sure what difference they make if any but anything is worth a try!
just really dont know what to do about this colic, its so hard to get him settled.

I'm unsure about it and i can't be doing with the arsing around with each feed, so i express enough for the night,so all i need to do is warm it,and then during the day i use a mixture of breast and sma milk. Prior to this i used cartons in the same manner but they are expensive in the long run

Infacol didn't touch my daughters colic but gripe water did. I added it to her bottle and never looked back!

We switched to Dr Browns bottles at 2-3 weeks old and used gripe water.
I switched back to avent when he was 13 weeks old though as the wind/colicy issues had settled (as the dr browns are a pain to clean!).

xx

hv said sma gold is known to cause wind and c and gate runny poo's - i was told to choose wind or loose poops - chose wind and give her a spoon of gripe water mid bottle.
i make up bottles as and when cos since she had the poops it was when i made some in advance and had changed to cow/gate,

Hi

My baby is on SMA gold and I always make up her feeds in advance - I also done this for my son 4 years ago. I can't see any harm in it to be honest.. people have been doing this for years!! Anyone I know with a baby does this and have never had any problems  I have 20 niece's & nephews and they are all fine LOL  They're always doing studies and coming out with new guidelines and restrictions etc.. :dohh:

As for the wind, I would seriously advise changing to Dr. Brown bottles. They are amazing and my daughter is like a different baby since changing her over to these. I did try infacol BEFORE changing bottles and it didn't work for her.. but every baby is different :baby: Definitely try Dr. Brown bottles before changing her formula :winkwink: I would only change my baby's formula as an absolute last resort!

:flower:

yep i have always done this since emily was born and shes been fine, i remember whn my HV came round and i was making bottles and she turned round and said your not supposed to do it that way i was thinking il do it how i want lol
