Colostrum colour?? (Maybe TMI - soz)

Hi there guys,

I was just wondering (and worrying - I do that a lot lol), can colostrum be a colour OTHER than yellow? Ive read seemingly everywhere that colostrum is yellow, thick and sticky.
I must not be normal or something...
Because mine is clear, quite thin and not particularly sticky either. It looks like slightly cloudy water. Is this still colostrum? Is it normal to be this colour? Is it less nutritious in some way than yellow colostrum lol? Aaargh I am confoozled.

Any info on this? I can't get anything conclusive on google lol

mine comes out clear and watery, but also thick and yellowy/orange as well. If I squeeze I can get little drops of it in the two different styles, it's quite cool.

Mine is completely clear and thin. Nothing to worry about and just the same. I personally haven't heard of it being yellow!

Mine is only ever slightly cloudy but pretty clear, and very thin and watery. Not had any thicker stuff or any yellow stuff yet! Guess we have that to look forward to a little later on, perhaps?? Nice hehehe

I get both at the same time cloudy liquid first and them the yellow stuff and it mixes to make milk

You can get orange crystals on bra/top too very normal. you can have a mess with them as yellow stuff will follow if you give them a squeeze lol. Because the weather is warmer you will find more cloudy liquid as if baby was here your milk would be more watery to keep them hydrated in the heat x

and Maryjo, thats crazy yellow lol. I thought thats what you meant, thats how wikipedia and my PG book describe it too. Thats why I thought I was strange lol

Mine was always clear. I didn't have any of the yellow stuff that people describe- even after I had Elyse.

I just asked about this recently too. Mine had been clear (now it's a little cloudy, but still not yellow) for months (I think it started around 16 weeks or something), but the other day I squeezed and got this thick yellow stuff coming out with my clear stuff... it looked kind of like Cheese Whiz. I was concerned that the clear stuff wasn't colostrum at all. I think I'm still a little confused, but whatever.

And my breasts are leaking a lot more now than ever. It used to be that I could squeeze it out, now it'll come out completely on its own. Sometimes I get this funny, tingling & tightening feeling in my breasts, and when I look, sure enough, they're leaking. And it's not just drops anymore. It's like a little stream. I'm just glad my baby will have food!

Mine clear and thick although if i wear a breast pad the end of the day its abit yellowy on the pad
