Combi Feeding and Follow On Milk

Hi

We have combi-fed since 5 days old due to LO not latching on properly and losing 14% of her birth weight in her first 5 days. She now bf and ff during the day and bf if she wakes for a feed in the night (easier for me!).

We are just starting weaning and so far its going OK. LO is coming up 6 months so should we switch from C&G stage 1 to C&G state 3 for her ff? Is it as simple as hitting the age guideline for the milk?

Hi hun, you dont really need to switch to follow on unless your LO is not drinking enough formula for her age (18-21 oz at 6+ with 3 solid meals). If her intake is low, you can give follow on a try as it has more nutrients & iron. Omar was off his formula & was taking less than the recomended. At 7.5 months we switched to follow on & he liked it much more. xx
