My twins were combi fed in hospital as they were premature and were loosing weight.
I exclusively bf when we got home but they cluster feed for about 5 hrs on waking and 6 hrs in the evening so I introduced 4 oz formula late morning and 4 oz in the evening so I can get a break.

They are very windy/ colicky. I wonder if their tummies don't know what is coming next. At 3 mths I hoped the cluster feeding would be slowing down however they would feed all day if I offered it. ( on the plus side they sleep 7 hrs, although are restless with their gassy tummies)

I wonder to I commit to ebf for say the next month and see if their tummies settle. It means being exhausted and its hard to go out but if helps then its worth it.

I would also have to express for the short occasions my parent look after them, so it's squeezing that in too.

I know the other option is to eff but I ebf dd until she was 7 mths so I feel I should persevere.

There is a lot of guilt with bf!!

I don't agree that its guilt. I think we are designed to want the best for our babies and that means breastfeeding, its the perfect food for your babies and it natural to want to persevere for them.

You have 2 babies and its going to be harder with them than if it were just one child. So each child needs the same from you that a singleton would. Cut yourself some slack! Youre doing great, and if you want to EBF then go for it. It'll be a few weeks of hard work but once your supply catches up with their demand it should level off. Formula is harder on their little systems so it will take a lot out of them having to digest it so you could be right in saying you think thats whats happening.
