How much formula is your lo taking on top of bf?

Alexander has about 16oz a day - on top of 5/6 proper breast feeds - plus extra booby snacks when he wants it.

I feel like he is a complete monster when it comes to milk but wanted to know what others are having and how many feeds are topped up?

annabelle is on bottles from about 7:30am - 7:30pm. in that time she will have around 20oz, and will then cluster feed on the boob until about 11pm, and drains 1 or 2 full boobs between then and her morning bottle. she's 6 weeks today.

so do you not bf in the day also, just in the evening? and she has 20oz then breast.

i just dont know if he's having too much formula but he seems happy with whats going on

Don't have a clue but wanted to say hi!
lol My lo is only breastmilk but has bottles of EBM sometimes and she is on the boob around every 1.5 hours during the day, but goes all night sleeping. Some babies eat a lot more than others and more often, if he seems full and content I don't think I would worry... But like I said, I have no idea lol

she's on just formula by day, as she was cluster feeding from me pretty much constantly and i was struggling to manage her as well as run round after my son. she can guzzle a 6oz bottle in 5 mins flat tho, so no wonder my boobs were taking a beating! lol

as said in the post above, all babies are different and need different amounts. as long as he's happy and gaining weight, i would keep going as you are. if you notice he starts wating more boob during the day, it probably means he's ready for a bigger bottle

My LO has 10oz of formula a day. I breastfeed first thing in a morning, then express a couple of bottles (not always possible) and then teatime and last feed of the day are bottles of 5oz of formula each. She breastfeeds during the night. The reason I do this is because the only time I can get her to take milk off me is during the night and first thing in the morning when we're both relaxed, but yet I can't express enough milk throughout the day to make all her feeds breastmilk.

I do 2 BFs, first thing in morning and bedtime, and LO has three other bottles -about 20oz - during the day. She sleeps all night. I was worried this wasn't enough for her but she seems content.

She is just about 4 months.

All babies are different I guess..
