Combination Feeding

Nickybaby - no the baby receives the benefits from breastfeeding and breastmilk up until the age of 2.

Wobbles, I'd keep an open mind. If you manage to feed the baby the colostrum (the first liquid out of your boobs for the first 2-5 days after giving birth) then that gives her a lot of vital antibodies. You could just see how it goes from there - you've got the bottles etc so can give formula or expressed milk if and when

hi wobbs
i fed Bm for first 10 days but couldnt produce enough to feen neve properly, the weight was falling off her and mw's started to panic. i felt awful for doing it put had to add formula to help her, made huge difference. i combination feed like that til around 9wks then my milk was almost non exsistant so formula took over and shes been on that(cow and gate)since. shes done fine on it (although i was v v v upset not to 100% BF to start with)and if we had another i would do the same again if need be. does that help??
