community care grant?

have any of you ever got 1? and roughly how much did they give you?

sorry if this sounds like a personal question and dont answer if ya dnt feel comfortable

the reason i ask is that we have just got a new house and nothing 4 it! so im just trying to find out roughly how much we will be givin to sort out what we can and cant buy etc!

I've heard this is really hard to get hold of hun but I think theres more info on it if you google it. You might be better off with applying for a budgeting loan? Not sure of your circumstances but you may be able to have this. xxx

I got a grant years ago but that's because I was coming out of a hostel into a house and had nothing. We were told to apply for loads and they would dsiregard lots of things as not being necessary. I think I got about £800 which was amazing really.

I think it's quite hard to get the grant unless you are coming out of care or a hostel and have some support from health/welfare people.

yeah if your moving into a house and need things then you can get it but they are picky!

I didnt get it I was moving into a house with nothing too, needed washing machine and fridge etc, They are v v picky, hope you get it! i might re-apply cos i owe my parents for furniture now!
