Well today i went for lunch with laura1984 with lil ruby (who is so so cute and big since 6 weeks ago when i saw her!!) anyway im so so so so so jealous of how she is, I love jacob to bits but ruby is so good with her eating and sleeping and lets face it jacob just sucks completely

Now rubes is 7 days younger than jacob. Yet has 4 x 7oz bottles a day and sleeps from 8pm till 8am each day not waking once!! And has slept good since birth nearly. Well jacob is up and down in the night some nights will be good and he'll wake once and some ngiths he'll wake 6 times :dohh: He has NEVER slept through. His feeds are mucked up too he used to eat heaps but now refuses the bottle and only takes about 3oz every feed every 3 hours!!! and doesnt go longer than 4 hours in the night max. This is down to being windy and having reflux (which yesterday got refered to special doc as he lost a 1oz from last week!! so hv referred him to get him seen to as even after 2 oz will be sick and thats what a newborn baby eats not a 3 month old!!) (and now i need to chart everything he is eating and being sick....arsed!!)

Know i love jacob and wouldnt change him for the world and seeing him in the night smiling away makes me heart melt but you kinda think WHY?? why cant you do it  Anyone else get like this??

but then i think well at least i wont have a problem when he is teething as im used to him getting up  - oh how we try to see the good in things XxxxX

  Hannah's never slept through either

  Hannah's never slept through either

Its a pain the arse aint it  I wanted ruby to talk some sense into jacob..."look its good to sleep" rather than being awake smiling at mummy's cavewoman look XxX

This is very true, Chloe has slept through since 10 weeks, but my god when she had 2 nights of waking at 4:30am I was a complete mess and couldnt cope at all and found myself wishing she jst woke up at that time every night! I said to someone yesterday, us mums are never happy!!!

 oh ema :hugs: us mums aren't ever happy - when maddi has had a rough few days (beginning of the month) i was completely unprepared as maddi is as good as gold and has slept through since 6weeks :dohh:

hope they can help jacobs reflux :hugs: x

Kaitlin is so like Jacob! She was only taking 3oz max and was then being sick bringing half of it back up! Reflux is a pain in the rear end isnt it! Even with the gaviscon she is sick alot so I dread to think what it would be without it. She has gradually incresed her bottles and sometimes even takes 6oz *(thats with a good 15-30 min break) I was worried and said to my friend its like having a newborn the way she feeds so little and its every 2 hours! Im hoping when it comes to weaning we can get into a better routine, as I dont know about you but she akes idfferent amounts at different times each day. Hope the specialist doctor can help you! so far were doing well with weight gasin staying on the line, god knows how though!
I know how you feel though...I cant complain becuase Ella was such a good baby she was really easy, I knew I'd have it hard second time round! Does Jacob cry alot too ? Kaitlin is getting a bit better but shes now really clingy coz she used to always sleep upright on me, was the only way she would settle.

Glad Im not the only one experiencing it anyway

lol.. aww some babies just are more sensitive to things then others I think. Jasmine sleeps 9-6:30am now, but I am praying for her to sleep until at least 7:30 soon haha

It might get better, callum was a brilliant sleeper when he was born and for the first few months but all that changed and now he's crap. so it might work the other way for jacob.

I get what your saying though, i get that twang of jealousy whenever someone says that their baby sleeps right the way through.

It's difficult not to compare isn't it?!

I feel this way sometimes when I see other BFing mums calmy feeding their LOs and there I am with Poppy crying and fussing and making a right scene! She has never slept through either and I can't see it ever happening to be honest!

The doctor prescribed Gaviscon for her last week because of her feeding problems but I think he's barking up the wrong tree.

But...what would we do if they weren't such spirited individuals *read that as loud and bolshy*?! Wouldn't life be dull if we were all the same?!

Daniel has been crap at sleeping since birth but I like to think that he excels in other areas. Thinking of having another cos I may as well be up with two rather than just one

We thought we had cracked it last week when he slept through for two nights but then he got a stinkin cold and we are back to square one :hissy:

its easy to compare your baby to others, and get those jealous feelings.

right now im jealous of friends who get a break because they have wonderful moms who babysit for them!

I'm jealous of you Ema,lol
my baby never slept through since birth and now he's 5 months and a week old now
still wakes up 4-5 times a night
only sleep 4 hours straight once ever
i never had 2 hours sleeping straight ,not even once
BUt he's healthy and very happy,so it's all worth it

Me too!!

Jensen's never slept through either - mind you he only wakes 1-3 times a night (so not as bad as some mums - so thats something to be thankful for!).

Nope, never in her 4 months slept through...Ah well, thats just how some babies are and there is surely a lot about our non-sleeping babies other moms can be jelous about. :)

I know how you feel :( I love Jay to bits but it can be hard at times, especially when you hear of other babies the same age sleeping through and eating regularly.

We had about two weeks when Jay was sleeping approx 6 - 8 hours straight and it was bliss, but he's started teething already and often wakes in the night crying :( All I have to do is pop some dentinox on his gums and pop his dummy back in and he's asleep again, but my sleep in so broken. He also suffers from wind in the night still.

He's so much better than he was and a lot more content than when he was a newborn, but he still has his moments!!

xx

I sooo know what you mean!!!! I blame Ollie's reflux on his poor sleeping although last night for the first time ever he slept 6 hours straight! Hope it wasn't a fluke! I find his feeding all over the place too. Sometimes he'll have 5oz but other times it'll be 2/3oz and then be hungry again before I know it! I find that he tends to cry alot too but think that might be the reflux too. Faith was a totally different baby, she slept through at 9 weeks and was a dream baby! Never even suffered with her teething either. I get fed up at times especially as my MIL makes it very obvious that she thinks it my fault the way he is. She thinks I spoil him too much which is why he cries alot and why he doesn't feed well and also doesn't sleep through x

My son Kian hardly ever slept in the day and didn't sleep through till he was about 6 months old, so i know exactly how you feel. A friends baby used to have regular naps in the day and slept through at 6 wks, i so wanted to poke her in the eye!!
Anyway, kian did start to sleep through and since then we have never had any problems with him. He never comes into our bed and only wakes in the night if hes ill. My friends little boy is up and down all night!!
