so went for a 3D scan yesterday. it was lovely and we did get to see her, she's beautiful i've put a pic here too.. but..

the sonographer seemed really worried because i'm 30 weeks, but she's fully engaged and really low. he almost couldn't get to her because her head was so low. all the pics we have are only of half her face because the other side was squashed into my pelvis. also he said she doesn't have enough fluid especially around her head so she might not be drinking, so i need to contact my labour ward asap to get a emergency scan to check her kidneys.
he said she's definitely going to be early as she's already ready for labour. when your amniotic fluid levels drop to how low mine are, the cervix will think it's ready to dialate, so i could be looking to have her in about 4 weeks?
also she has already dropped into position which is putting pressure on my cervix again tricking it into dialating early.
AND. if i go to the NHS now and there is something wrong with her kidneys and she isn't drinking enough they'll have to get her out now.

how glad am i that i went for the 3D scan!?? i need to ring midwife today.. but i know they're going to ask me to come in and my OH isn't home yet. so i'll be ringing them this afternoon. i'm nervous! :(

has anyone heard of anything like this? xx

wow thats really scary hun. I cant really offer much but I hope its nothing :hugs: and she is beautiful btw..xx

:hugs:
yeah as i was reading that i was going to write 'bet your glad you had a 3d scan now' then you wrote it at the end :dohh:
I really hope she's ok babe, i'm sure it'll all be ok, they thought i was going into preterm labour not long ago, gave me steriods and stuck me in the delivery suite on a ctg... but he decided to stay in there... hope she does the same for you lots of hugs and kisses to u and bump xoxoxoxx

she has got her nose and lips 100% from my OH !! the lips were scary, in some of the pics they're the spitting image of each other!

yeah i'm hoping the guy is just being over cautious, but i'm so glad i had it so i can double check everything!! i'll let u know what happens when i ring up in a bit. i bet they just ask me to come in and do a scan or something.. just worried because if she doesn't drink she'll have permanent damage to her kidneys.
apparently she's 'above average' size haha. nice way of saying she's fat :) xx

How scary. Hope she stays put for abit longer then 34 weeks
xx

i was born with kidney complications (only got 1 working one since birth)
and i know from what my mum has said how scary it was.
fingers crossed everything is fine!
and shes a gorgeous baby by the way!

thanks everyone :) and laura it's good to know that if something were to be wrong she can still lead a normal life as you have!

i really think she's trying to be early. i have menstrual style cramps and diarrhea now which apparently can be a sign it's going to happen soon.
i called up and have an appointment with midwife tomorrow morning, but the labour ward have been contacted so they know about me just in case something was to happen.
i'm sure everything is fine it just seems everything is pointing to her coming early! nervous. just can't wait to find out for sure tomorrow!

I hope that everything is okay! Can't offer you much advice since I don't know how the NHS works.. but I'm sure everything is fine. Let us know what your midwife says. Good luck hun and she is gorgeous :flower:

Its alright! the only difference to my life to anyone elses is i cant drink much alcohol and when i was little i just was monitored a few times a year to check my kidney system worked fine!
but as far as i'm aware ive not needed a checkup since i was 10 years old and only need to go back if i feel i have any concerns.
they didnt even bring up concerns when i found out i was expecting!

fingers crossed hun!

hopefully he's just being cautious to be on the safe side :) she's a little stunner & FX'd she stays put for a bit longer x

hey hun. first of all the half of her face u can see looks gorgeous!she will be a stunner!!secondly my first lo was extremely low down so low the midwife could never ever even feel her head when check from about 32 weeks on..she was fully engaged and i was given steroids to help her lungs..i ended up going 9 days over my due date before being induced!but i never had a problem with my fluid.fingers crossed for u she's just comfy down there and hangs on for a while longer.xo

:hugs: Good luck, I hope they consider steroids and baby stays put longer! :)

sweet dont worry, at 30 weeks bubs is perfectly able to cope in the big bad world, i wen into labour with my DD at 27 weeks got to 4cm but the drugs they gave me to stop the labour worked eventually and things were okay thankfully but we were fully prepared for a premie and yet again i've been told i wont go past 30 weeks due t loads of complications but babys are much stronger than we think and if they are really woried they'll give you steroids to increase the lung development as thats the last pf the organs to develop fully but if i makes you relax more my aunty gave birth to her little girl at 23 weeks and shes 8now and healthy as anytuing xx

^ agreed, whatever happens, the odd are on babies side now, im a 29 weeker and had a 27 weeker last year. We're doing grand ;)

And on the subject of babies that survive born early... did you see that story about the 26 week old born? Went home yesterday  :)
