Hello,

I began my maternity leave early January and was told from April i would accrue my annual leave. I had been working full time but am now planning on going back half time. Will the annual leave accrued be equivalent to full time working hours as i want to tag that on to my maternity leave before starting back officially in Oct.

Next question, when will my last maternity payment be? Im presuming (and hoping) September?!

Finally, I asked for equal payments over 9 months which was going fine until July where i randomly got paid £700 less than the other months. Im waiting for my August payment but im worried now that they've made a mistake and over paid me initially and are trying to sort it out. Should i say something or just ignore it?

Thanks!

Yes, you should still be a full time member of staff on mat leave until you return and accrue full annual leave allowance for the period April - September. then you should be part time from the date of your return.

No idea without knowing your mat pay arrangements!

You asked HR to spread your payments and they agreed this as part of a policy? I asked at my work (NHS trust) and they refused as it isn't their policy. So for the months Jan - June did you receive the correct amount you expected to receive assuming equal payments over nine months or you received more? I sounds to me like they may have made a mistake but it's difficult to tell without knowing whether you have calculated that you receicved the correct payments before that. I would drop them an email to check. If it turns out that they have over paid you for the first six months then I don't think there's too much you can do now.

NOthing much to add to Discoclare's answer. However, you say you were told you would accrue holidays from April. I'm assuming this is when you holiday year starts. Did you also get to take your full holidays for April 2011 to March 2012? Because you actually accrue holidays for all your mat leave.
