Apparently first babies turn into the head down position a good few weeks before they are due but second babies don't necessarily do this until the last minute (so I've been told)....as this is my second baby, does this apply even though my first baby was delivered by section or should this baby be classed like a first baby and therefore be in the head down position by now!? Any advice would be great as I really want a VBAC this time but the wee man has gone from being head down to breech and I only have just over 4 weeks to go!!

This is my second baby.

As I understood it all babies should be in the right head down position by about 30 weeks. The head engagement however can change with second babies. The head can be engaged and pop out again and/or only engage during labour itself whereas first babies tend to engage and stay put.

This baby for me has been in a head down position ever since my 20 week scan so I haven't had any breech concerns.

I was wondering the same thing. I`m also attempting a VBAC and my daughter was born via C-Section as she was in a transverse position. I never went into labour, never felt a contraction and therefore get confused as to whether this pregnancy is more like a first or a second.

That being said, I was told at my last appt. that baby is head down but that was a bit ago so hoping at my appt. this Friday baby is still in a good position.

I know this probably doesn`t help you, but seeing how you still have four weeks baby can most definitely still turn head down. I have a friend who`s son was breech right up to the week before delivery and he was her third.
