I'm in the same boat and take 1500 Metformin a day - even so, I had 2 cycles where I didn't detect ovulation.

I took Soy Iso on days 2-6 this cycle and got a +OPK and a peak on the monitor yesterday morning (having left side Ov pain as I type!). It seems to have worked for me but I know other people have had issues with it.

Baby dust!

thank you thats made me feel better about taking it.

its really frustrating because one doc said i had it and then i saw another doc and he said im borderline and the doc could of just got my bloods done when i was having a bad day hormone wise lol

they wont test again though unless i dont have a period for 6 months!!

i wish i had never gone to see the doctor because id rather of not known i could have it because i wouldnt be worrying so much.

i know i can conceive because i had my dd who is 2 by accident lol but since i had her i have put a lot of weight on so that wont help me concieve!

xxxxxxxx

I have regular cycles of usually 25 days ... The past few cycles when I didn't Ovulate have been nearer 30. I have all the other usual symptoms including weight gain but borderline bloods - I had to beg the dr to try Metformin. I don't think it's helped too much with Ov but taking it with a low carb, calorie controlled diet, I've managed to lose 2 stone in 4 months and feeling much better generally. I'll be taking Soy next cycle too (if I don't get the BFP this time) to see if I get the same result with Ov. I started getting my first symptoms when my youngest (now 9) was about 2yrs old.

Good luck huni

From my understanding, its women that have PCOS that usually take Soy. Its taken to bring on ovulation. Its when you have a regular cycle that you don't want to take Soy. I tried it this month & I had strong ovulation symptoms, around cycle day 12 & a few days after. I believe I ovulated that week. I'm sure I ovulate on my own. I just took them because I heard good things. I don't know that it helped me get pregnant. I won't know that until Monday or Wednesday. That's when Af is due. I can feel her coming :( But this is my first month trying, so I'm not expecting to get pregnant, in fact I'm doubting it. Anyhow I would give it a try. I have heard great things about it!

hi
there is no chance whatsoever that my doctors will put me on metformin
he did put me on some weight loss tablets after i requested them but they made me have severe ulcers in my mouth so i stopped taking them. plus i decided to start trying for a baby against his judgement so i carnt take them when im ttc anyway. doctor wanted me to lose weight before i ttc to i dont want to wait.

ive just started swimming 2 times a week now my lo is at preschool so hopfully that will help me shift some of the weight i have.
im 5 ft 6 and im 16stone 2 lb. i feel like a hefalump but really struggle with losing the weight.

i am thinking about going on slimming world again because i know i can do if if i really try hard enough. i lose over a stone within 5 weeks on slimming world in 2008 and then found myself pregnant! doctor recons the sudden weight loss and healthy eating would of helped me concieve.

its the money problem with slimming world that i find stops me doing it.

after writing this post i have realised how much i do really need to get to that meeting and get started with weight loss lol

i hope everyone has luck with their soy and gets their :bfp: very soon!!
