Hi, wondering if anyone can give advice if they've been in a similar situation...

I get regular periods every 28 days, and decided once I started my December period I would go on the pill, seeing as I had an ectopic in September and a miscarriage in November. My period was due on 5th December. It was unusually late and came on the 8th. I started on my pill on that day. I HAD, however, had unprotected sex when I would have been ovulating a couple of weeks before.
Anyway, my period seemed its usual self, started light, got to its usual heaviness then tapered off on the 4th day to a brown discharge. But, this is now day 13 and I'm still getting brown discharge, every day. Its not an abnormal amount but all discharge is brown. This is REALLY unusual for me. Also, I have had really really sore boobs since a week before I got my period, been so tired most of the day, had a rubbish appetite, felt nauseous, and yesterday started feeling terribly dizzy and having bad head aches. Having been pregnant before I know these are all symptoms I've experienced both times, but I was sure I'm not pregnant as I got my period which seemed perfectly normal, aside from being unusually late. What I'm confused about, is that after I had a miscarriage in November, my symptoms of pregnancy stopped immediately. But I am still having so many pregnancy symptoms. I took a test yesterday to be sure, seeing as if I WAS pregnant I would be about 5-6 weeks by now, which a HPT has showed up positive both times for me in the past. But it was negative, not even a FAINT line, which is what it showed just before my miscarriage.

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light? I know its always a waiting game with these things, but as many can probably understand, its frustrating not knowing what's going on. I'm just so thrown off by the fact I still have such sore boobs, now started getting very dizzy with sore head, and that I am still having brown discharge 13 days after my period started.

Thanks in advance!

Have you ever been on the pill before? Your body may just be adjusting to the pill. Many women experience spotting while on the pill and many times it's like the brown discharge your referring to. Also, some women experience nausea while on the pill at first. It may take a couple months for your body to get used to the hormones in the pill. If you don't start getting more regular with less discharge, I would talk to your doctor about maybe switching the type of pill you're on.

As a side note, you said you took the first active pill on the day of your period? I thought they usually have you start the first active pill on either the first day after you stopped your period or the sunday after your period began? That may have thrown your body off a little too. Hope this helps!
