Basically the company I work for is changing owners and I have the choice of either coming back to my old role in April (when my mat pay stops) to the new owners, or transferring to something else within the current company somewhere else before Christmas. As I want to go part time anyway I decided to look for a transfer but knew it wouldn't be easy as they'd have to employ me, as well as someone to cover my mat leave, although they're technically not allowed to take that into consideration.
I missed a deadline for an internal job as someone sent me the email late so had to apply for one of the new jobs as an external candidate but at least I'd still be with the current company. However, an internal transfer then came up and I was the only one that applied so technically it's mine so I cancelled my interview with the other one and was meeting this manager on Tuesday to discuss hours etc. and verify that it was what we both wanted basically.
However, I just got a phonecall from the original job I applied for externally and the manager has just been told by HR that I cancelled my interview, so she's rung round to find out if there have been any transfers and found out what happened. So she's now rung me saying that the hours of the transfer I've gone with aren't changeable and maybe her hours might suit me better or something. So we chatted for 20mins and I explained I can't get the 2 trains/1hour journey to the interview with LO anyway and she said if I can find childcare she can interview me up here on Wednesday instead.
So now she's apparently ringing the other manager to get her to ring me to tell me the hours of the transfer I thought I had in the bag so I can then ring the new manager back tomorrow and let her know if I want the interview on Wednesday or not

Anyway, I'm just waiting to see if I get this phonecall now and what the hours are but in this week I've gone to having an interview and an application in, to getting a transfer, to now being talked back into my interview lmao. God save me, I don't know what's going on! I don't know if this new manager has got really rubbish other candidates and wants me because I have experience, or if the other manager HAS to take me cos I'm the only one who applied but needs someone before my mat leave is up so is trying to palm me off on someone, or a bit of both!!
Very confused anyway, just sat here all nervous queasy waiting to see if I get this phone call basically. I hate job hunting and I also hate knowing that the two of them are discussing me as I type this!
