I have my 2nd gynae appointment on monday for infertility (ttc 19 months). I had some day 3 bloods taken a few weeks ago and have looked them up (as I work in the hospital). My rubella status is

'low level iGg antibodies detected. Patient probably immune but please offer vaccination'

Now, I might be wrong, but if I have the rubella jab (or what would be the MMR), I think I might have to hold off ttc for 3 months, as it is a live vaccine. Well, to complicate matters I have an appointment for an HSG on 23rd march. So, if I have the MMR i am not going to be able to ttc for 3 month following the HSG, so am going to miss out on my oppotunity to take advantage of the hightened fertility that comes after the NSG (for some peopl). Do you girlies think I should try and delay the HSG to coincide with the end of the 3 months of not ttc? I won't be able to have the MMR jab thins month as we have already BD'd this month.

I am so confused. Has this happened to anyone else, or is it just me that gets into these complicated situations??!?

Any advice would be massively appreciated.

Thanks

dont they advise u NOT to TTC for a month after a hsg or do i have my wires crossed lol I always thought they said not to TTC untill you have your nxt period. as for the jab im not sure.. not heard that before

Hi there

I'd speak to your Dr ... he\she will be the best person to advise if having the jab is the best thing, even if it means you have to put TTC off a little.
Rubella is dangerous to unborn babies so a good immunity is important.
You may find they advise that the level of immunity you have is ok in their opinion.
OR ... TTC after the HSG and if that doesn't give you a BFP then get the jab?

I wish I could offer more than just support here. I'd give my Dr. a call to find out what the numbers mean and what they recommend for ttc, rubella shots, and HSG.

Good luck.
