hello,
I'm Nae, 25 yrs old & married...This is my TTC second month (JAN) trying...My first month(DEC) was a crash course and I tried to learn as much as I could during my period so I could be prepared after when OV would potentially take place. It turned out to be a failed attempt even with trying timing "suspected" OV day I'm worried about a few factors but one for sure is that I suffer from dryness....
My tracking method during TTC month 1 (DEC) was just mucus and cervix texture tracking along with counting the 14th after my period (very basic) we did the baby dance ;) before during and after the date of my possible OV. It was a little odd because a few days( possibly 3 days after the 14th day) after I notice my mucus changed and became more "thick" sort of like what I read about to look for, unfortunately I forgot to tack that so I'm going into my second month wondering if I OV somewhat late or close the the 14th day.

So This month TTC month 2(JAN) I been tracking mucus, cervix, and using LH tests and due to dryness I'm using pre-seed. I use the Walmart equate brand LH tests and I tested on day 13 it was negative, LH tested on day 14 and it was very hard to tell if it was more positive or negative the lines seemed to be the same meaning a ( + ) but kind of not too....it was very in between and my mucus seemed to be a positive sign as well, so that night we tried. Today the 15th day, I LH tested again and it came out what seems to be negative within 3-5 minutes of testing which is weird because LH surge is suppose to last 24hrs to 3 days ...then I went back about 7 hours later to look at the same negative stick and it seemed to be positive BUT my mucus seemed to revert back to average not "thick" so very mixed information from my body and LH results??? My question is...if the stick is sitting for longer than the suggested time, is it more accurate since the LH hormone may have more time to bond with the chemical that is trying to detect ?

I'm also curious.... my husband and I are debating if we should avoid having sex if this month is a fail :( and during the time between now and day 13,14, & 15 so that he will "produce" more he claims that how his "body" works...BUT Ive read having regular sex is better for viable and abundance of sperm. I guess if this months TTC method doesn't work ill give it a try but I'm curious about women who have been TTC for much longer I'm just starting the journey. Thank you ! please be kind.

Stress and over thinking everything just drive you insane. Every girls cervical mucus varies and i personally think the way i fell pregnant was simply by stopping trying to work things out.

the ovulation sticks on amazon are cheap and you could maybee use them and see when you have good lines.

but overall just enjoy dtd when your in the mood. Try different times of the day. Start taking folic acid and relax. I was the same but the month i stopped worrying i fell pregnant. I kept track of my periods as mine did vary and i used to keep track of when we had sex on an app on my phone but i never checked cm or temps.

you will get pregnant if you can conceive and if it gets to nearly a year your doctor will run tests. Ive seen it before where girls have been so desperate for a baby its taken them months. I honestly believe we are all guilty of it but if you can try take my advice to relax and let nature happen you will get there. Xxx

Also we started sorta trying in january last year but my partner was working alot. I fell pregnant in may last year so it took me 3-4 months xx

I'm more stressed at the moment about trying to pin point my ovulation and trying to feeling or notice signs...the strips are sooooo confusing that's the most stressful part of all... We are trying to make it fun an relaxing we are planning a vacation around the next TTC cycle days so that it feels more spontaneous to us haha Because yes it has kind of been a mood killer for this months TTC ive been super naggy about it and thanks for bringing it up because I really need to reflect on my approach I need to take "baby steps" and understand my body first and just have fun in between and hopefully in between something good will come of it.
I'm pretty sure I missed my OV day today because I LH tested again and compared it to old test and it seems more positive and yesterday I was cramping and today a little too which I have always cramped in between periods and I never knew what it was or meant till a feww weeks ago. I might give it a try tonight, but I wont think too much about it after that. I'm accepting now that it might be a while just trying to learn about my cycle, so I can't expect anything soon and I should just trying and relax...its hard though but I'm accepting it now specially after this month of TTC, its been a real eye opener.

Congrats on your pregnancy :hugs2:

seems to be 28 days but after 3 months of just tracking my period it seems to be on average 28 days.

Ok... so if you can have intercourse cycle day 10 12 14 16 or 12 14 16 for a month or two and if that is not working maybe 11, 13 and 15... sperm lives for up to 5 days i believe so it will cover your fertile period. I ovulated on day 13. My cycles were between 24-26 days.

Rather than pin point the day id focus on your fertile week :-) xx

Awesome, thank you for confirming that!..I been using a cycle app at a reference of when a fertile week might be before I charted my body changes and we've been very frequent :D between CD11-20 so maybe I did catch OV day ... doing my own charting and getting advice in the forum is sooo much better. I just gotta relax for about two weeks to really know lol If not maybe we will have a better chance during our vacation when we are not working and and we are having fun...

It does make you wander how people get pregnant on a one night stand haha. I think you can guarentee you will catch it if you do it every couple of days through that week.

its easy to think if it does not happen in the first month or two it wont happen but it does seem to take about 3-4. If you can do different times of day aswel. I do recommend folic acid.

It felt like forever for me too but she will be here any day and she was worth the wait. I would not want any other baby now so i tell myself tht was her month to be conceived if you get me. You will get your perfect baby. It will soon be appointments and buying stuff. They need so much stuff lol. Im sure you will be pregnant by the end of the year xx

Nperez, just a few tips of things I've done and are doing now. No BFP's for me yet but I'm hoping this is my year!! I use clearblue OPK'S. I know these are expensive but if u want to try it, it might be good for you. It shows low fertility days as an open circle. High fertility days days as a flashing smilie face and peak fertility days as a solid smilie (not flashing). Yes, they are digital and more money. I feel like for me it's better to not have to interpret the lines for now. I got a 2 month supply (20 tests) for about $45 at Target. It does we tests per month because u don't need to test every single day. It tells u when to start based on your cycles length average.
Also I don't know if you have ever heard of Smep but this is the first month I am doing that. Basically it's DTD every other day starting at CD 8 and then once you get your O On your OPK then you do it for 3 full days. Something like that. I just O'D today so I have to look back and see. This is just a nice method so that if all else fails (temps, OPK's, tracking, you are still having lots of BD so to me it's kind of a fail safe, with realizing that it still may take time.

Trouble is with having intercourse every day it becomes tiring, forced and a chore. Plus the stress of thinking we must have sex later can make it worse. Its ok getting a rough idea when your ovulating but if you just enjoy sex when you want sex but be aware if your fertile week i honestly think its better. I know how much you want to fall pregnant and you will in time be but dont overthink because your probs making it alot more emotionally hard. Plus if your partner feels pressured and just like a baby maker uts a mood killer. Fingers crossed you get a bfp xxx
