hello ladies!

I've just been for my 1st vaginal scan today after taking Clomid and have been fortunate enough to discover that I am responding well to it and am about to O in 2/3 days - wahoo

however, after finding this out and getting excited (and laughing at my husband asking his "swimmers" if they were ready and paying attention lol) we discovered a dark area of fluid on the scan image, the specialist then took the image to the Dr who said he wanted to do a laproscoy (I think thats right) as it looks as if it is blocked - which will be in around 15 wks, if I don't fall pg by then

My confusion comes in because I had an HSG last month, and the dye was spilling out of my fallopian tubes as it should do, the nurse said there was some slight pooling within the tubes but nothing to be concerned about

The nurse said to keep trying just in case there isn't anything, but I'm worried that if we do it could result in an ectopic pregnancy

Can anyone help shed any light?

Or even if you've had a similar experience, what happened?

Thanks V much for reading

Sorry - I can't really help you with this one. I hope all is okay though.

Thanks Maz, was a bit disappointing to say the least, but I have to keep reminding myself that every time they find something wrong it's that something that brings my husband and I closer to our dream!

Just not easy trying to believe it after nearly 4 yrs lol

Could be a cyst. Clomid has the unfortunate side effect of kicking those off at times.

They said it was possible it could be, (I have PCOS) but was too hard to tell - it was huge in comparision to my ovary, but hey, I'm no expert and it's the first time I've even seen a scan image

If it is a cyst, is it still possible for the egg to be released?

Depends on which side it is released from and if the cyst is blocking the tube. if the cyst is on the left side, blocking the left tube and the egg is released from the left side then it would not get through. If released from the right side then no blockage, no problem. It might not even be a permanent cyst. Have known people to have PCOS flare up during a clomid cycle only for the cyst to 'go down' of its own accord.

Ah well, I guess we'll find out at the end of the month

Thank you Curly Sue :D
