So i had to tell my builder i wouldnt be able to come lock up after him today because i had a midwife appointment and he asked if i was pregnant. I said yeah, just over 5mnth and he said Well what did your parents have to say about that?
If i was 7/8 years older he would've said congratulations and asked if it was a boy or girl, when she was due, did we have any names etc but no! Because i'm a teenager his immediate reaction was negative :growlmad: It makes me soooo pissed off!
And that's why i don't like telling people i'm pregnant! OH always asks me why i don't just tell people when we're just chatting about what we've been up to recently and i usually just shrug it off but its because everyone seems to react so negatively, and its worse because they don't even realise they're doing it!

Phew! Sorry girls, its better out than in..xx

That was rude of him actually. If it makes you feel any better I am 28 and hardly anyone not even my parents congratulated me let alone anyone on my other halfs side. In fact some fell out with me for reasons I dnot even know.

I would have asked what the f*** it had to do with him!

People are morons, ignore them :ignore: xxx

I just dont understand why people cant even pretend to be nice even if they're thinking something else. I feel like shouting ITS OKAY, YOU CAN CONGRATULATE ME. I JUST CREATED LIFE!!!!
And i guess it doesn't matter how old you are, people suck!..xx

people that i've told have told me they're "so sorry to hear that"
and i was just like "don't be, i'm going to be fine and happy."
but sometimes it just infuriates me.

I agree even with other silly comments that are negative that follow after. Your happy yet everyone else seems to kick you down and they dont even stop to think of what impact that can have. Total ignorance. I had a midwife point out my bad tooth today, nice way to talk to a stranger eh! I didnt point out the wart she had on her face did i? nope. Sometimes people need to know when to keep their mouths shut, manners is forgotten now.

That's disgraceful, I hope you gave him a dirty look.
So far whenever I've told anyone there first response was 'congratulations' despite my age - but I always grit my teeth incase it's not.

It's like, by the time your 5 months or so you've got past all the negative rubbish and frightenedness at the start (at least I had after the first 12 weeks - or some people are happy right away!) you are starting to get properly excited! Then a comment like that shoots you down.

What a moron.

My personell manager at work was a complete bitch and always had that attitude with me.

'Was it planned?'
'What did your parents say'
'Is your boyfriend still with you'

I had them all. Why couldn't she have just kept her beak out and said congratulations like she would have done if I were 5 years older?! I totally feel our frustration. Just ask 'Do you have any kids?', and if they say yes ask 'were THEY planned?'... 'Are you still with your wife?' etc. See how they like it!!

Lol i really really wish i'd done this now! Especially as he was standing with his son and it would've been hilarious to see his face!

Awh, people are so rude!

The most common ones I've had is
"Omg, is she keeping it?!??"
"Is it her boyfriend's?"
"What'd her parents do??"

But a lot of the people I have told have just been congratulations!! :) & that makes me feel better. Just keep your head up and ignore there stupid comments.
x

Yea most peoples reaction to finding out I was pregnant was 'Wow bet that took you by surprise...' I loved to see their faces when I told them 'No actually, we were trying to get pregnant for 13 months. Thanks for the congratulations, idiot.' xx

Some of them are really insulting, especially asking if it's your boyfriends. So what if it isn't, what business is it of theirs? They wouldn't ask a married woman who is 35 if the kids are biologically her husbands would they? :growlmad:

They really are, the asking if it was my boyfriend's was a top one on my list. I was like yeah? It's my boyfriends. Like can you be any more rude?

& I totally agree with you on the 35 and husband situation, everyone would be like congratulations!! Instead of..Oh, is it your husbands?

Oh yes, if you are under 21 and pregnant you MUST be sleeping around it seems!

my sister got me a maternity t-shirt printed with this on it!!! :haha:

My heart goes out to you all now. Although I havnt been asked who the dad is I am not sure who would dare ask something like that to me or anything similar but I think under 30 you do get cheeky remarks , i am sure you do over 30 but all my family are over 30 and when they where preg everyone was nice to them which is not the case with me as i am now 28. Some people are just assholes.

just ignore it hun, people that are negative will always find something horrible to say and if not they'll make a reason up, I've gotten horrible comments from so many people even relatives, my uncle decided to invite himself and his wife over and said how sorry for me he was and that he will make sure that 'nobody hears of it and its kept within the family' I was like wtf I'm living with my partner and we're engaged! narrow minded people are everywhere, its hard when they're relatives but honestly you're better off not paying any attention to them, afterall you're going to have a baby and nobody can take the joy of that away :flower:
