Hey ladies.
Hope everyone is well.
I have had constant violent sickness now for the past 4 days. I can't keep anything down, not even water! I feel terrible.
I have been to see doc, and I have anti-sickness tablets, but they are not working up to now.
I have had some nausea, and a small amount of sickness at night up until now. But these past 4 days have been so bad, I have no energy and feel so so ill.
Has anyone else had this? I know doc says baby will be ok, but I'm worried.
Sorry for long post, just feeling really really down and not myself today.:cry::cry:

Does anyone have any advice ladies? I am worried about how sick I am being! xxxxx

Do you think you have a bug? Or has your MS been like this before?

Not sure hun. I've not had it this bad so far....and this is my first baby so have nothing to compare it with

Sounds more like a bug or something, I don't think I have seen anyones MS suddenly getting that worse as far on as you are. I know thats no help sorry! but atleast if it is a bug it might get better quickly.

My nephew had really bad gastroentaritus(sp?) a few years ago and the doc told my sister to boil rice and feed him a little of the cooled starchy water, its horrid looking but it really helped settle his stomach, it's something to do with the enzymes in the rice.

Sorry I'm not any help but I hate seeing you having no replys!

If you can't keep fluids down for more than 24 hours you should be admitted to hospital. The doctor should be more pro active with you! Try sucking waterbased ice lollies and ice cubes for fluids. Only eating small amounts. Try and see if taking the anti sickness tablets work better if you take them at different times aswell. And if you still can't keep fluids down call your maternity ward at the hospital and explain the situation, you will need a drip to keep you hydrated :) xxx

I had this for two weeks, and lost nearly 2 stone, but then I had it to lose! My Dr wasn't overly concerned, and wouldn't presecribe anti emetics.

I got to the point where I couldn't turn over in bed without my stomach turning inside out. I tried lollies, water, everything, and nothing would stay down.

Your baby will take from you what he or she needs; though it may not feel like it, I promise. Sadly, the limit for hospitalisation is three to four days without water. Try to take tiny tiny sips; at least you're getting something. Have you tried sucking fruit? Little oranges worked for me for a few days (sucking each segment), and at least you'd be getting some fluid.

PM me if you need a shoulder!

Thanks ladies. I managed to eat some dry toast before, but within hald an hour it was back up! Had some water too, and managed to keep that down for a bit, then was violently ill. Just feel so low and down about it all. I have no energy and I'm just not myself.
Think I'm going to phone the doctors again tomorrow and see what they say. I've had the antisickness tablets again this afternoon and still no luck.

I'm still in first tri, but as I'm only a few weeks behind you I thought I'd pop in and say hello.

Just wanted to say that I was really ill on Friday and Saturday, also couldn't even keep water down. Luckily by Saturday afternoon it slowly started to get better. I had been nauseous a lot before then, but hadn't actually been sick (ie vomited) since I was at about 7 weeks or so, and even that was only once or twice.

I had a routine scan today and bubs looks beautiful! But after 4 days you must be feeling AWFUL, your doctor needs to do more as if you can't keep water down you will get dehydrated which is bad, bad news.

The emergency doctor suggested to me taking tiny sips of water - you have probably tried that but it's always worth mentioning! Also try some hard sweets like boiled sweets or barley sugar. Again apologies if you've done all this.

I'm not in the UK so I don't know what your best option would be but by now you need to bypass your doctor - it doesn't matter if you're pregnant or not, if you can't keep water down for a few days then you need to be taken seriously. Is there a night service you can call for a second opinion?

Also big :hugs: - I know from very recent experience how absolutely awful it feels! You must be so, so drained. :-(

Ah hun, I have just cried reading your lovely, lovely post. I am so grateful for any advice and hugs! I honestly don't know what else to do. I have never felt so weak ever. I don't think the docs will do anything else as I have only lost 2lb in weight, so not enough to be worried about. She just said to keep trying to eat....so don't know what else to do. Only thing we can do is go to hospital, but dont want to cause a fuss incase I feel better soon!
