Constipated baby please help!!

My baby is 3 and a half weeks old and she got prescribed gaviscon on Monday by the doctor to help with her reflux but ever since I've given her it she's become constipated and its got to the point where she screams every time she tries to poo...I've stopped giving her gaviscon now but has anyone got any ideas that will help my little one poo

Can you try giving her an extra ounce or half ounce of water between feeds? Worked with my LO for a while.

My poor little boy has just been constipated too. I gave him coloxyl which softens the poo and makes it easier for him to pass rather than a laxitive. Worked wonders for him.

A little cooled boiled water should do the trick xx

We use Gripe Water and it seems to settle our boys down.

It's the best thing to try because constipation is often caused by dehydration and is quite common in newborns who are formula fed. Francesca suffered at 2 weeks old and a little water really helped xxx

Had the same problem with gavicon i was told to do a gentle belly message a cirular motion using olive oil and cooled down boiled water when your lo is 4 weeks usegripe water the advised dose on the bottle in boiled cooled water worked a treat for me and still does my lo is nearly 14 weeks xx
