Hickory is around 45 minutes North of Charlotte. I'm glad you are liking it here so far! I love NC. I love that I can go to the mountains if I want, or if I feel like going to the beach I can do that too! It is a beautiful state. I have heard pretty scary things about giving birth in the UK! I also heard that they get a really nice maternity leave, so that must be the plus side of it over there!

Ahhh ok, thats about 3-3.5 Hrs from me. I like NC but I do miss some things about home like being able to get buses and trains to pretty much anywhere and of course being able to walk round the shops, park etc. I have a son, named Benjamin and I gave birth to him here. It was a very different experience than what I expected in more ways than one! Not very private in the UK and been told its somewhat like a convary belt (sp?) but yea, maternity leave is up to a year I think or maybe 10 months-either way its something my friends love and have taken full advantage of!
I am glad I dont have that issue as I am a SAHM and I'm loving it! I have a degree in marketing but I am in no hurry to use it-kids are only young once and it goes so fast[/QUOTE]
