Contractions? Help!

I need some help understanding contractions. This is my first baby but I am a c-section Mommy and have never really gone into labor before.

I am starting to get what might be contractions. It actually feels like the baby is stretching out as far as he can in all directions and my uterus is tightening up. They aren't painful - just uncomfortable and I have to just sit down while they are happening. Contractions???? I have no idea! The baby is SUPER active during them.

Help! I am supposed to call the dr when I have a pattern of every 8-10 minutes for an hour or more. These aren't in a definite pattern just yet - getting there though...

Hey hun,

Contractions are felt differently from woman to woman but generally they are a bit more painful than just just an uncomfortable sensation! Your stomach and possibly other parts fo your body will tighten up, you'll feel a wave of pain and then when the pain goes the body losens up a little. I'm not saying these aren't contractions you're experiencing but I do think you'd be describing it as painful rather than uncomfortable. These could be very early ones though and if they start getting more intense and pattern out then yeah you should go up to the hospital, they can test you by a machine to see if your uterus is contracting

I agree contactions feel different to everyone. I will be having another csection with this baby and my DR informed me to get there when they are ten min apart.
