Just curious--to bank cord blood, does this mean you have to clamp the cord immediately? We are planning to leave the cord until it stops pulsing before clamping/cutting it.
It is preferred to clamp right away if you are planning on banking the cord blood cause if you don't you risk not getting enough blood to store. I'm not familiar as to whether or not there is a minimum amount required for donated cord blood but with the few experiences I had with the private cord blood banking there was a specific minimum amount of blood required. If that amount wasn't obtained the cord blood that they did get would be discarded and the parents would receive a refund of whatever money they had already given.
