I'm going to transfer my LO to be big bed after Easter but not sure what to do about the bedding. She's been in a sleeping bag since 2 months old and now has a cot pillow. Did you transfer to a quilt when moving to a big bed or do you stick with the sleeping bag?

Thanks :flower:

I have just put lo in a toddler bed, before that she was in a cot bed with a sleeping bag. I changed the sleeping bag for a cot bed duvet which fits the toddler bed about a month before so that she could get used to it before going into the big bed. It seems to have worked well *crossed fingers*

She started of with a pillow and a sleep bag then changed it to a duvet while she was in the cot she hated it to start with so I took it away and tried again 2 weeks later and she was fine with it

I changed to a duvet a feonths before i put him into a big bed so he got used to it before i put him in a bed and ive had no trouble at all

I changed from sleeping bag to quilt while still in the cot (no pillow). then we changed to bed and kept quilt. after a couple of weeks we went to shops and bought duvet, pillow and some nice new girly bedding for her new big girl bed.

I put my son in a big bed about 2 months ago(fun and games lol) and just went straight to using a normal quilt and pillow. That is what they will be using from now on, if u are worried about getting cold in the night then maybe keep LO in a sleeping bag until they get used to being in a bed x

Our DD went in a full size single bed when she was 18 months old with a toddler bed guard. She always hated her cot as she is so long and settled to a 'big girl bed' straight away. She loved the thought of buying 'big girl bedding' and the first day we bought it she played on the bed all afternoon as she was so excited

I bought a 10 tog duvet and toddler pillow which she loves snuggling into. I also found over the last couple of months it really helped if she had a cold as she was propped up a bit.

As its a bit colder at the moment we have a blanket underneath the normal duvet cover as she likes to kick them off in the night.

Hope this helps!!

I stopped using a sleeping bag straight away, as Holly kept getting out of bed and trying to walk  We bought a toddler duvet, but the tog rating was so low, the poor thing was always cold. She has a 10tog single duvet, which is big, but we fold the end under so it doesn't trail on the floor. It also means there's enough duvet to tuck her in nice and snug.

We got him used to a duvet and pillow in the cot first so it wasn't such a transition, he handled it fine, the first couple of nights he kicked the cover off so I tucked it under the mattress to keep him warm but then after that he soon got used to pulling the cover over himself xx
