Not a very appealing title but it gets straight to the point.

Over the past week and a half I have had a cough that seems to finally reach its peak. It started out as a stuffy nose so I assume it was post nasal drip, which is common for me, but a few nights ago I ended up puking my brains out for the first time in my pregnancy. I busted almost all the blood vessels in my face and the irritating part is people just telling me morning sickness is apart of being pregnant.

Its not m/s. There was no nausea just terrible coughing.

Now I havent thrown up since and both my throat and my lungs are super sore. I almost vomitted this morning after coughing so hard I thought my lungs would surely come up.

Is there anyway to ease the coughing or something?

Check with your doctor first, but according to the list of approved meds and such I was given, we're allowed to suck on cough drops, take Robitussin, Claritin or Benadryl. Or you could try some more natural things like tea with honey, etc...

I'm just getting over something similar, although I didn't throw up with mine... just a bad cough and some sinus drainage and non-stop runny nose.

Sorry you are going through this. I have had a terrible cough for over 12 weeks now. I cough and cough and I vomit sometimes 3 times a day because of it. I cough til my ribs, back and head hurt.

I have been to Dr 5 times and they have tried me with an inhaler, acid reflux/heartburn medicine and antibiotics for suspected chest infection. They are basically stumped and are now telling me its probably pregnancy related :(

I am at the end of my tether with it, as well as making me vomit it also makes me leak down below, I have to wear pads. It really is getting me down.

If i find a cure I will post it here, I hope yours clears up and doesnt last as long as mine as I wouldnt wish this misery on my worst enemy. :(

Get tested for whooping cough. I broke a rib with a cough a coupe years ago that sounds the same as yours. There is also a 'minor' version of pertussis that still needs ABs if it gets really bad.

Ugh, I went into the hospital due to not being able to breathe very well. SO and I literally sat there in a room for over an hour waiting for the dr to come in. Only for him to tell me I have bronchospasms and hes not comfortable giving me any medicine. Told me to go the pharamsist and theyll let me know what medicines was safe to take.

I seriously was livid. In the duration of being there I could hear another patient get upset because he was waiting over an hour after being in a car accident. And one of SOs friends were there dealing with a pendicitious and they had to track down someone as well.

Im taking robotusson but still coughing.so hard my lungs and throat are on fire. Its.probably the worst hospital ive ever been in and only cemented the fact I refuse to have my child there.
