Hi, I'm 17 and I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on the 6th of February. I did a pregnancy test 10 days after having sex but it came back negative. The test I used was the most sensitive HCG test available but is it possible that I tested too early? My period was due this weekend and my breasts have gotten bigger and slightly more sensitive over the last week but apart from that there aren't any signs that my period is on its way. Is it possible that I'm still pregnant despite a negative preg test?

There's always a chance you could be pregnant. And since you're my age, you might not have regular periods yet. When I got pregnant with this baby I took the Clearblue Digital tests and didn't get a postive result until 4 days after I missed my period. So there's a chance. Also, it would kinda depend on when your last period was (if they are regular) because then you have a better idea of when you were fertile. Good luck. Keep us updated!

I think my last period was on the 24th of january... i dont know what this means in terms of ovulation and whatnot lol

I've also been experiencing slight muscle spasms in my lower abdomen... i dont think ive had this before and i dont know if its just coincidence or maybe a sign?

yes, it's possible you tested too early. If your period doesn't arrive in a few days take another test.

I would say take another test although you could just be worrying, after all if it was just the once there is only a 50/50 chance right?

But I would take the test, or maybe wait a while and take the test. Until you know either way try not to worry too much

I had a negative result first of all. Waited and still my period didn't appear so 2 weeks later I took a ClearBlue and it came up positive. Then a further two digital and again positive. Now I'm 3months pregnant. So, i'd wait a couple weeks.

Well, you tested ten days after INTERCOURSE which does not mean you actually CONCEIVIED on that date. Sperm can survive up to 5 days in the woman waiting on her to release an egg. So if you had intercourse, you could have possible ovulated 5 days past that date on intercourse which would have only been 5 days past your ovulation date. I know, bery confusing! lol but most women do not get a positive result until 12-14 days past ovulation. Some women get them at 8-10 dpo but that's not the "normal". I would say test again in a week if you don't start. I did just look at my calendar and if you typically have a normal 28 day cycle looks like your ovulation would have been around the 6th so you have a good chance that you are. However, active trying couples only have a 25% chance of conceiving in the first month of trying so it's hard to say. Stress can delay your ovulation, but it does not delay the actual start of your period. So if you were stressed out the time around your ovulation that could delay it.
