Could low sperm count be hereditary?

Hello,

So let me explain my worry. Found out recently that my OH's parents had trouble conceiving him (he's the eldest) and it took them 5 years. So say his dad had a low sperm count, could that be a possibility for my OH? I have no idea if it's hereditary or not. We have been happily ntnp for quite some time now but haven't really worried about the fact that we haven't conceived until we found the info about his parents.

So, any input would be appreciated
