Hi ladies!

I am veryyyy new to this whole set up and dont have many women in my life to talk with or help out with my situation!

I'm young healthy and they cant seem to find anything wrong with me or my fiance. I am not having regular cycles or ovulating.

This month my doctor put me on progesterone and cloimd.

I start cloimd today like i was told on days 3-8. (started me off at 100mg a day!) I have not herd of many of you on here talking about these days and I am sooo nervous with no one to talk to!

*we have been trying for over a year and a half with no success.
Any ladies in the same boat or close?
-THANK YOU!

Try looking here https://www.babyandbump.com/problems-trying-conceive/59439-clomid-club.html.

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply! I realllly appreciate it!
I'll have to keep searching. . .thats why i wrote a thread! Everything I look at isnt really exactly what i'm looking for. . .SOO frustrating!

I've done 5 cycles of Clomid. 2 of them were with estrogen and progesterone. I'm happy to try to answer any questions you might have!

We've been TTC for 15 months and no known reason for our infertility. We're now doing injections and progesterone.

You may have already been tested for this, but just a shot in the dark - have they tested you for pcos? The irregular cycles and non-ovulation make me think of what I've had all my life.

I know how you feel though. I just don't have that many people in my life that I can talk to about these things, and it's so nice to be able to talk to people going through a similar situation!

i have had clomid for 4 cycles and 2 of those i did cd 3-9 to give me better follicles. I think that is probably why they added that extra day in there for you.

Ah thank you guys for responding and being so nice about it!

No they have not done anything for pcos.what exactly would they do to test for it and any reason why you think they havent before just throwing me on medicine?
And nice! thats a relief that atleast now i know one person has be in the same boat with the medicine!

Hey chick, just wanted to say :hi: and if you ever want a chat about it all you can always message me!

My previous OB didn't even mention pcos despite my talk about irregular periods and the fact that I hadn't had a period for over 4 months at the last point that I saw her. She DID throw me onto Provera to jump start my period - but from what I've found out since then, she didn't even prescribe it correctly! I changed OB's and my current one (the new one) listened to my symtoms and story and asked questions and then referred me to an endocrinologist. She had the idea that PCOS might be a possibility and she wanted me to see the endo to work on losing weight and finding out about PCOS.

My Endo is the one who did all the testing. She did a HUGE range of tests! The first blood work that I had done was something like 17 vials of blood for various tests including glucose tolerance, vitamin levels, cholesterol etc. Tbh I'm not sure how many of those were needed to diagnose that I had PCOS, but a huge part of it was the glucose tolerance test and hormone (male and female) levels.

It may be worth asking your OB about and seeing what she/he says. Based on my experience, I'd say that whether a doctor requests tests that would prove pcos or disprove it is very dependent on the doctor. My first OB didn't actually listen to me and when I tried to ask questions, quite often I felt like I was waaaay beneath her or something - the communication wasn't there and she really didn't try to find out about ME, she just decided what she thought based on *shrug* something. The biggest difference to me was when I saw my current OB. She listened. My first meeting with her took over 2 hours because she delved into my life history and experiences, listened to my answers and then asked more questions based on those answers.

I HATE having my blood taken, but I was so glad that my endo did such an extensive blood work on me because it really covered a TON of things. I feel like for the first time in my life, I have somewhat of an idea of what makes my body tick. I also feel very much like things that seemed random and unconnected in my life before, now have proved to be connected and are making MUCH more sense! Things like having facial/chest hair growth, my troubles with weight, my issues with sleep, etc.

Whenever I came off birth control, I didnt ovulate on my own for four months so I had like 120+ cycle! I went to the DR and he gave me provera to jump start AF and then clomid to make me ovulate. It was quite odd because he didnt test me for anything that I am aware of. He did take some blood tests actually now that I think of it..but I mentioned PCOS and endo and he said he wasnt worried about those things and that he was just interested in making me ovulate so I could have a chance! lol. Kinda odd now that I think about it. But glad he did it as I ovulated and had my first chance in five months to see if I could be pregnant! Moving onto month six and second clomid cycle. Hope this one brings good news!

Good luck on your clomid journey!

I appreciate you all more than i can even explain!
its great to hear your stories and see what others are going through and am sorry about the situations you have been in with doctors not showing they care and also having to go through soo much!
There is no way you arent the strongest women out there!

The OB i have been seeing is very nice and atleast makes it out that she is listening and she does ask questions and has ran some tests. but nothing even close to how extensive as to yours!

A few things about me though is that i am young, i'm healthy (never any surgeries or diseases) i'm in the right weight class for my age and height that i should be, non smoker, no drinking or drugs of any kind. Never been a smoker or have done drugs or never into drinking. Very Very frustrating!

My last day of clomid is tomorrow.
I'm hoping i'm only going to have to do this whole thing once!

Hope you all are doing well and making progress!!!
