could this be a miscarriage?

Hi,

i am in a very confused state . please advise me after reading my condition.

i did my pregnancy test yesterday morning ard 8am and it came up as positive. i was so happy and started dreaming about my baby. i did another test just of curiosity in the afternoon ard 12 and it came up as negitive.then i thought i might be coz of my urine being more diluted etc.at 5pm in the evening i started to have pain in my abdomen almost like period pain.and when i went to loo, i saw light brown colored blood, and when i wiped i saw very little tissue sort of..like this '-' . then went to A&E immeditely and then doctor did the pregnancy urine test and it came up as negitive .i was shocked.he did the internal vaginal test and said there is very light bleeding inside.just 1-2 drops, but he said there are chances of miscarriage as the test was negitive and u had bleeding,pain etc. so he told me to be prepared for that.i was shocked,scared,and couldnt talk anything after that.i cant imagine loosing this preganancy.am so desperate abt having ababy . i have given my blood tests and result will come soon. after i came back from hospital, my pain has gone and no bleeding now. i did pregnancy test today morning with early morning sample and i got a very faint positive line. i am confused.

has anyone had this situation before?please advise me.do u think its a miscarriage.now i am not at all bleeding.no pain.i have lower back pain thats it. please help!

You sound very distraught indeed. First and foremost please try and calm down a bit. If this is a miscarriage then there's nothing you can do, sadly...Second, can you post pictures of the faint positives? What tests have you done? I'm afraid some give very believable evaps... Is your AF late or was this when it was supposed to come?

thanks for ur reply Ama.i have used clear blue digital pregnancy test. and it came up as positive 1-2weeks preg. and today i used boots pregnancy test which gave faint lines. my AF was supposed to be on 2nd december. if its my AF i think the bleeding shd continue? it stopped yesterday night.it lasted only for 2-3hrs.

Hmmm I haven't yet heard of a CB digi to be wrong.

Maybe the test at the docs was not as sensitive? One of the times they had me POAS on one of their HPTs at the hospital to see if I was miscarrying the gyn said their sensibility was 500! I thought I heard wrong so I asked again and he confirmed, 500 because they want to make sure it's a viable pregnancy they pick up with it. Not all hospitals are the same but keep the sensibility of the test in mind.

A few drops of blood, one day late for AF.... sounds to me like you could well still be pregnant but I'm no doctor. Can you get your GP to do a hgc quantitative test?

i hope so. 500 sensibility is too much i think! any idea how much hcg will be in 4th week?

i have given my blood sample yes' when i went to A&E. i asked doctor that will the result of blood be accurate and can it say if i am pregnant for sure or not, he said 50-50.wht does he mean? he said we cant just rely on blood test. and told me that he will book an appointment for early pregnancy unit.but i have to wait 3 days to get the appointment.any idea what will they do in early pregnancy unit?

It looks like a BFP to me hon!!! - a Moderator may want to move your post...

The appointment won't be much help this early on and if the doc said 50-50 what he may mean is that it was a qualitative test -meaning it only tells them pregnant or not with a certain concentration cut off point- instead of a quantitative test -meaning one telling them the exact number, the exact concentration, meaning giving you results even if it's as low as 10 or 15.

wht confuses me is , i got 2 positives and 2 negitives. its so confusing!! dont know which one to believe. i asked my doctor if i can call up and know the blood test result, he said they will give some figure which wont make much sense to u. i seem to remember that he mentioned abt quantitative blood test.

Great news Probably just some implantation spotting and your hcg wasn't high enough for some of the tests. Congrats and have a happy healthy 9 months.

I had a + digi the day I had a m/c, but it came up + afterwards too. I would think that since you are not still bleeding, that you may indeed still be pregnant. Keep taking the tests, and I guess it is a waiting game.

I have experienced this situation before, but sadly for me, my "period" arrived.
It was with CB digital that I got the BFP too, but it took longer than 3 minutes to get the result to come up... for a few minutes all I saw was the egg timer spinning around, and thats when I asked myself if my positive was actually a positive, since it took so long to appear.
I then went on to take FRER, and the positive didnt show until the test was almost dry.
I went to the DR, my result was negative there too.
NOBODY could explain to me what was going on; and then I had a period on the date AF was supposed to arrive.
Some say I had a chemical pregnancy, some would say I was never pregnant at all and that I left the HPTs too long... I dunno, I wish you all the very best of luck..
