So I've been waiting for flutters, popcorn popping or as one particularly eloquent friend put it 'a feeling a bit like farting in the bath'...

...I haven't had any of those but last night I was lying on my side in bed and I felt what I can only describe as wriggling, low down in my abdomen under my belly button, it came and went about three times then my DH rolled over in bed and I had to move so it stopped. Again this morning I was sitting at my desk at work and I felt the wriggling again only a little bit more like a tummy rumble this time except in the wrong place, low in my abdomen.

It didn't feel like gas so my question was, has baby finally decided to get active? I'm 17+2 and feeling cautiously excited!:flower:

Sounds about right! When I first started feeling him it was when I layed in bed on my left side and after sitting for a period of time at work. Started around 17/18 wks. It just gets better and better!

It very well could be!! I felt like a rolling feeling about a week before I started feeling kicks!

I would have kicked DH out of the way :haha:

I love the different descriptions of what baby movement feels like!! If it's coming from where your uterus is, or where you think it is, it's likely that it's baby!

Sounds like it! So many people talk of this 'fluttering' or 'gas'- I never got any fluttering at all, nor did I feel anything remotely 'gas-like', I just felt little pokes! I described it, and still do really, as feeling like when you feel blood pounding in a part of your body? Like a pulse? But not as regular, more hit and miss than that, but that was how it felt at first. Now she's got stronger, but I can't describe it any other way than that.
But sounds like it could be, congrats! You won't get any peace now :P

Sounds right! :) It tickled the first time, then felt like carbonation bubbles XD

x_dreamer_x YES! Pulse like is probably quite a good way of describing it, like when you lay on your arm for too long but not as regular!

KMR1763 - I think it is where my uterus is, its where the midwife put the doppler at the last appointment.

Hans2009 - To be fair even if I'd have kicked him in the face he wouldn't have noticed he's such a deep sleeper lol

Peircewife - Sounds exactly right, I was lying on my left side as well!

Thanks for all your replies! I'm quite confident that it was baby that I felt! I'm so excited! It's made it so real that this isn't pretend that really is a baby in there. :happydance::happydance:

Gosh, I work with all men and I'm freaking them out with my stupid grin!

Move again baby please :cloud9:

Sounds good!! Mine felt like popping bubbles at first and now it just feels like a little wriggly worm, and I feel it all the time. It's getting a pattern to the movement too!

Sounds exactly how mine started 19w6d along.
It was like muscle twitches, or like someone running their finger along a radiator just above bikini line!!!

Enjoy it's great and bizarre to feel it!
