cows milk allergy?

hi,

from birth until i was 5 or 6 i was allergic to cows milk (even now if i drink loads it makes me ill), small amounts in coffee/cereal i'm ok but cant drink glass fulls.

anyway my eldest ended up on sma wysoy at 6weeks as he kept being sick on the sma gold and the docs thought he maybe the same as me, he was on it until he was nearly 3. with middle 1 the docs put him on sma wysoy from a few days old until he was 3ys. they are now both ok as long as dont drink too much milk or they are sick.

blake has been on sma gold from bith. he seemed ok apart from probs pooing until 2days ago when he started being very sick about 15mins after his bottle, and then crys for a further 15-20mins. he brings wind up/farts really well so i dot think its collic.

i'm debating about buying a tin of wysoy to try hiim on b4 going to docs. what do you think/would you do?

I would go for the Wysoy, especially as your other two were on it. I am the same as you and my baby is on Wysoy. I think the doc would be ok seeing as your other two were intolerant to cows milk.

I never went to my doc about it as I wanted her on Wysoy from the start, didn't want to wait 'til she got ill then switch. He is fine with my decision so it's up to you!

i got the other 2 on prescription, been and got a tin from chemist so will see if this makes him sick. he had feed about 5mns ago and he isnt crying or being sick ((yet!) fingers crossed.

I hope it works for him! That's the only prob I have, 'cos I am not willing to let her be sick first I don't get it on prescription. Wish I did, must save a hell of a lot of money!

speak to your doc, i didnt know i could get it on prescription until my eldest had been on it for about 4months. i happened to be at docs and said something and doc was like " do you want me to do a repeat prescription for you as your here?" and was quite shocked when i said i was buying it, did the prescription there and then and put it on repeat!



well he hasnt been sick (just a tiny bit of milk/dribble with burps!), no screaming/crying and is asleep! i'm really hoping this was the problem but i will have to do a few more feeds to be sure!
