... Anyone else with a CMPA baby?

I'm pretty shocked by it tbh, there is no family history of allergies on either side, nor is there any other non food allergies. She doesn't have particularly sensitive skin which is another marker.

My wee one has always been a really windy baby (the bowel variety!) and literally farted every few minutes, sometimes really screaming before letting out an audible pump! She was obviously so uncomfortable.

She has been on nutramigen for a few weeks and is a different baby now, but we are a bit worried about weaning fully. She is getting some vegetables just now, but I don't want her to get in pain again.

DS2 is a CMPA baby

Again with no family history, before Nutramigen he was horribly refluxy, had terrible colic and hideous mucousy nappies. It tooks a few days for the milk to kick in but then he was a different baby.

Weaning wasn't too bad as he was happy on just veg but became more difficult once he was eating more and I was wanting to try new things. I do a combination of BLW and purées, the purées are more for when we're eating out as I know exactly what's in them. I found I quickly learnt what he could and couldn't have and was also surprised as to how much stuff has milk in without me even realising!

DS2 is now 7 1/2 months and will eat anything I put infront of him, tonight was pasta with veg sauce which he loved!

I'm hoping to try reintroducing dairy between 12-18mnts and see how he gets on, I'm hoping he'll grow out of it :)

I suspected something was wrong from her being tiny, had her at the doctors several times and were fobbed off with pretty much everything before the health visitor noticed her weight centiles dropping and saw her avoiding her milk when she had been a great drinker up until her problems started.

I'm a vegetarian myself so I'm pretty accustomed to checking labels, but this is a whole new kettle of fish! I never even thought about actually eating out, maybe purees would be easier but they are so messy, I hate them! Lol!

She is great at tasting things, I made loads of carrot and sweet potato mash which she loves, but she has also had banana, mashed potato made with her formula, giant pasta with pesto (she just chewed it and spat most of it out which is fine!) toast with mashed avocado, mangetout, baby corn, and carrot batons. She has loved all of it (especially anything with carrot. Her clothes are all stained orange!)

Dd2 has cmpa, amongst other allergies. I got a bit of a head start on finding suitable foods for weaning as I'm breastfeeding so have had to cut all her allergens from my diet:dohh:
When it comes to eating out all establishments (in uk) have to be able to provide information on the top 14 allergens. Most have a folder of info to look through. Some are more helpful than others and it can take a bit of trial and error to find places you are happy to eat. It's not impossible though and I am happily blw dd2 and indulging in occasional meals out.

ds2 had a cows milk allergy totally out the blue no one else I no has an allergy !

He could eat dairy at 1 and could drink cows milk a few months ago although does still give him a bit dodgy poops sometimes but he's fine now he's 2 now so could eat dairy before being able to have cows milk X

We discovered my son has cmpa when I began weaning with him (prior to that he was exclusively breastfeed) he has a very serious case and comes up in rashes immediately, vomits and swells up! I remember at only 6 months letting him taste some mash potatoes and his lips swelled so bad the blood vessels burst :(

He could eat everything but obviously we kept away from dairy once he was diagnosed, he was prescribed aptamil pepti when he was younger afterwards we switched to coconut milk. We use dairy free butter and are very careful with what he can eat when not at home.

Unfortunately my son is still allergic at 4 :( we have no idea when he'll outgrow and it's just a case of waiting it out. He sees a dietician every 6 months and she said there could still be a possibility he may outgrow or he could have for life. I'm hoping it disappears asap.

Oh and no family history of CMPA whatsoever :/

My daughter was the same exact way and she ended up on nutramigen as well. I weaned her and doc told me to try 2%, so I did and she seemed like she out grew her milk allergy. She's 4 a day now and drinks fat free lIke the rest of us, and she has no problems. I had the milk allergy as a baby too, my mother told me I outgrew it but not until I was about 6.
