Yesterday i tried my first 500g evening primrose oil capsule vaginally at about lunch time i end up sleeping for a few hours that night and woke up to constant dull period like pain in my back and alot of tightenings (but i had got them at my midwife appointment aswell but not painful) these were painful and i have had them since but they seem to ease up now and again and almost completely disappear..

Anyone else had these types of pains? :flow: xx

The first day I took epo orally I got this very mildly then I took one vaginally 2 night ago nothing happened but I did get scared that it would so I'm gonna wait till I get to 36 to try again I'm finding that everywhere is giving different advice as to when to use epo n how lol

I really want to try epo where do I get it from. And is there a difference between the oral and vaginal ones? Do you have to take it regularly? Sorry for all the questions. Xx

When I took epo my last pregnancy it never gave me bh. Its used to soften/ripen your cervix and to help the area where u tear ( sorry I don't know the name) more stretchy so u don't tear as bad..

Jadee21- I buy my epo at the drug store ( I'm in the US so I get them at cvs, not sure if ur uk).. They r capsules so theres no difference.. (I always took them vagionally starting at 36 weeks 1000mg daily)

Holland and barretts i got the 30 500g capsules tub it's £3.99 and you can get two tubs for £5.99. The oral and vaginal ones are the same and i know alot of people take it in the morning orally and at night before bed vaginally. Heres a thread on it https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/p...f-tea-rlt-evening-primrose-oil-epo-faq-2.html :flow: xx

Ahh thankyou, i wonder if it could be because i was already having tightenings and baby is already starting to engage. :flow: xx

I was taking EPO orally and internally for 2 weeks prior to my sweep, I had no tightenings and it had no effect on my cervix (it is still very high and firmly closed), stopped taking it internally now as the mess was getting on my nerves .....

Fingers crossed it works for you though
