Oh wow! Love the nurseries ladies! Are the wall art owls (both photos) painted or stickers?

I am eager to start the kids room. They will be sharing so I need a revamp. Any excuse really haha. Must finish my own bedroom first, otherwise it'll stay half painted forever

I think this is lovely and very professional looking. Tempted to try this although I'm not very arty! Are you going to add anything round the letters?
xx

Olivers nursery is gorgeous, I made curtains, bunting and cushions and colourful bed sheets out of sale sheets for double beds, mil painted the canvas.

Love the bunting! Can you give a quick lesson on how to make it please?

They are stickers! There is no way I would have been able to paint that haha. Got them at Home Depot :)

Bunting is really easy, I did mine the hard way, as I think they hang better. Cut multiple triangles and take one in your chosen fabric and one in backing fabricc. Pin them togetgerwith the surface you want showing on the inside. Sew down the two long sides and reverse it, you may need to snip some of the excess near the seam at the point to get it neat when you poke it out. Repeat and then pin and sew onto a binding strip. Which is like a ribbon where you lay the bunting on and fold the other half over the top.
I've also seen it done where you just use a single fabric triangle and cut with pinking shears to stop fraying so no sewing.
Xx

I have a sewing machine which was given to me second hand. It's never been out but i think I'm going to have to try and figure it out and get my mum to give me a lesson!

I would love to do my own soft furnishings. Duvet covers and curtains mainly. I think I need to invest in a seeing machine haha.
I wouldn't mind making a mobile either.
I'm a part time artist (part time because I'm lazy/can't over do it or I become uninspired haha), but I work with paint and coals and such. No fabric. I need to experiment!

Cushions are dead easy, you need slightly smaller than the cushion size.
Duvet covers also easy.
Curtains I had help from mil.

Id probably be a ginormous cheat, and buy plain bedding/curtains and then add to them. How difficult is hand sewing? Better to get my hands on a machine?

Machine is much easier and quicker.
You can stick things on with iron on adhesive and then sew that's much easier.

Oh you can? I never knew this! I'm disappointed I've never given it a go before.
I want their room to still be a matching theme, but gender specific too. And of course I can't find what I'm looking for haha.
Now I've got time, I would be daft not to create!

Pm me if you need to and I'll try to help.
Ever been in hobby craft? Xx

Once haha. I buy my supplies from a dealer that just has a wide variety of paints, pencils, pastels ect. And he delivers what I use, so it's not often I'm let loose in anywhere like hobbycraft.
This is the perfect excuse though!

And thank you. I may have to take you up on this when I get going xxx

Beautiful nurseries ladies.

I'm already knitting lots of clothes for baby. He's got quite a lot of cardigans, hats & booties! Still got more I want to do. Figure he'll need them being an autumn baby.

I'm also going to knit some decorations for the nursery. We're in temporary accommodation between selling our last house & buying another so painting isn't really an option. I've found a book called knitted nursery with some fab designs for things like bunting, room tidies & things using foam.

I'm going to be very busy over the next few months!!

I love the colors! I also will be making a bunch of things for the nursery. I'm doing a natical theme. I plan on making a mobile, painting some pictures to hang on the wall, making a sailboat out of driftwood and refinishing a dresser, fabric, and painting nautical flags on wood panels to hang on the wall (if we ever pick a name!)

Hi GeralynB

I love the Nautical idea! I've been researching into this as i wanted to buy 3D letters that hang on the wall but i just can't find any. have you come across any at all?

hobby craft do really light weight cardboard 3D letters if you are still looking
