do you get it or have you a private agreement?

does having CSA in place mean FOB does pay or does he do it as and when he feels like it still?

anyone had further action taken due to non payments?

how long after you applied for CSA did they get back to you?

If they have FOB's work details do they just take it at source or do they need fobs permission?

perhaps this could be pinned-should be a good topic with lots of answers hopefully

My personal experience.

Harvey's father did not feel as though he needed to pay matinenece and he paid for Harvey's things when he was with him. So I went through the CSA.

He didn't work, so his payments are £5 a week, or £10 a fortnight through the CSA. They have to make an application to the job centre for matinence but it is very rare for the JC to decline this.

Payments are fortnightly and ONLY if he signs on.

It took around 4 weeks for CSA to be set up as they had to send a form out to Harvey's dad declaring his work status and how many nights a week he had Harvey (which was none) but because he lied in his form it took longer for the payments to be set up.

I get a payment from CSA rather then Harvey's dad. Harvey's dad pays CSA (or it gets taken from his benefits) and then gets put directly to the CSA and then CSA put it into my account.

FOB has to declare if he gets a job, the CSA do not check this. Although if he does get a job and doesn't admit it and gets caught, the payments are back dated from when he starts.

Just because you have a CSA agreement, does not give father an obligation to see the child. Just remember that!

A father of a child does not need to be seeing the child before you apply for CSA. As loong as they are on BC (this is my understanding) then you can apply for CSA.

what if they are not on the bc?
my fob is a complete asshole and despite being together for 4yrs, hes abandoned ship and wants nothing to do with me or baby, so doubt he will go on the bc when she is born?

i will be going to the csa x

if u want payments i think you need him to be on the birth certificate or you may have to prove he is the father
you can just apply anyway and try your luck?

Fob isn't on BC. I don't want him to be so not applying to CSA.
He hasn't contacted me about LO for nearly 4 weeks now I don't know what he's planning.

i think you can still apply for CSA even if a father is not on BC... the father may deny being the father, but they will then ask for a DNA test and that's when the fun starts and people end up on Jezza lol!! xx

Steffy you have a gorgeous little babba there, his smile is priceless awwww. He is lucky to have a mummy like you xxx

We did have a private agreement but after a bit of mud slinging and wanting to pay less he took me to CSA and he now pays more.

does having CSA in place mean FOB does pay or does he do it as and when he feels like it still?

CSA doesn't mean he is going to pay, that all depends on him. FOB chose to get CSA to pay me but my payment took 17 days from his bank to mine and they were just full of shit excuses so he changed to pay me directly

anyone had further action taken due to non payments?

No

how long after you applied for CSA did they get back to you?

Our claim took 3 weeks to finalise and then my first payment was the 1st of the next month

If they have FOB's work details do they just take it at source or do they need fobs permission?

I think they need FOB's permission unless he fails to pay the agreed amount but you both have to agree! If he doesn't provide his payslips they will go straight to his employer

I went through CSA as he made it clear that he wasn't going to pay anything more than a pittance voluntarily (he's a high earner)

does having CSA in place mean FOB does pay or does he do it as and when he feels like it still?

Initially it's up to them to fulfil the arrangement but, in my case, he still didn't pay so the CSA apllied for and got an 'attachment of earning' order, so it was taken directly from his wages by his employer before he got paid. It did take a fair while to set up and get to that stage but the arrears kept mounting up while he faffed around and I did eventually get all the money owed

anyone had further action taken due to non payments?

See above LOL

how long after you applied for CSA did they get back to you?

I really can't remember to be honest - it used to depend on whether you (as the parent with care) were on income support or not - in which case they moved fast, but I don't know if that still applies

If they have FOB's work details do they just take it at source or do they need fobs permission?

They need a court order to do this and they will only go to the expense of getting one if he continually defaults on the payment arrangements they have set
