Cuddling in the playground!

I think it is lovely, but I do kind of understand why some mums may feel uncomfortable...

When we were on holiday last year this young toddler came up and hugged Hannah and gave her a kiss, I was chatting to his mum saying how lovely he was when she dropped a bombshell and said that he was just getting over Rotavirus :nope:

Within 24 hours, Hannah was desperately ill and was admitted to hospital, I have never seen her so poorly and she was only 11 months old. She had tubes and drips coming out of everywhere

Now I am probably overly cautious, I only really let her hug and kiss other kids that I know.

now thats just stuidity on the mothers side, she knew her son had been ill and that he shouldnt of been around others for 24 hours after he stopped being ill.

ppl like this so my head in when they dont think about the welfare of other peoples children

I agree, I was so angry - I should have let rip at her but I was too worried about being polite

Now Hannah is a bit older and stronger I'm not as cautious, We know most of the mums and kids at her nursery and at playgroups etc so I know that they are all sensible and wouldn't bring their kid out if they were getting over a serious illness.

Just a thought though as to why some Mums might be a bit funny about it. I think it's lovely, but one bad experience has probably made me a bit more protective over her than I should be

i took zane down to the playgroup at the nearest village, where all the mums were stuck up and looked down their noses at me...then the next day zane came down with a d&v bug. i just thought to myself ok they make ppl feel like crap but they cant keep their kids clean and think if others. i was mad as zane was so ill, so we never went again.

im not sure what id of done in ur situation, id of been shocked that she let her son near mine but like u i wouldnt of wanted to be rude. but on the other hand we have a right to be rude when it comes to the safty of our children. some people just need a slap, maybe it would get abit of common sence into them lol

I'd think it was sweet but Hannah is very very very shy so my reaction may depend on her reaction to an extent (she can get really upset when others invade her space and she's not ready for it). I'd certainly not walk away, just tell the other mother how shy Hannah is etc.
