curious about twins :)

Hi all,
was just a quick question...im a twin myself, i have a twin brother, and would LOVE to have twins myself one day, by all means i would be just as happy if i had one baby each time (i have a beautiful baby girl just now!! ) but just curious, is there anything different that you done to conceive twins? is there twins in your family? would love to hear

I just had the 4th generation of twins. The 3 other sets of twins are all from woman on my dads side of the family.

Im a twin with my brother and my older sister and brother are also twins
My granma had twins what sadly died and i think that may be it. And no i didnt do anything different although ive read if you take fertility tablet/enhancer things then your chance of concieving twins are higher.

I never done anything differently.. My mum had twins but they were born at 22 weeks and didnt survive..
Twins only run through a womans family, It cannot run through the mans side as it is to do with women and releasing eggs.. Identicals have no explanation!

i asked my mum where the twins came from and she said it was her mums (my nans) generation that had a few twins in the family, so it must have skipped a generation and then my mum had twins, so maybe it will skip a generation again, if so then that means i would miss out... but hey it doesnt always go like that...
my dad is a twin, his sister had twins, but lost one, and his brothers wife had twins but lost one as well...
being a fraternal twin myself... would all this make my chances a little higher? xx

My Mom's sis had twins, but that's it..Also, a friend of mine is a fraternal twin and she ended up with twins right before me!

My mum's sister had twins, but since she was adopted we have no idea if the tendency runs further back in the family than that.

And yes, if you're a fraternal twin yourself, and have several sets along the mother's side, then your chances are much much higher x

Fertility treatment, being over 30, it being hereditary, and taller or larger women have an increased chance of having twins apparently.

I don't fit any of the above (except for being tall!), no twins anywhere in my family either. However here I am expecting 2! If it's going to happen it will happen. As you are a twin yourself i'm sure your chances are more than others anyway!

ive got twins on my maternal and paternal side both sets girls
i already had 4 children before getting pregnant with my twin girls,which was a shock as i was on the pill and even more of a shock when they said twins!!

apparently jsut coming off the pill increases your chances too.

My sister has twins and my nan had twins too all fraternal. I was 35 when I conceived the boys one month after coming off the pill - didnt even have time to monitor ovulation let alone try for twins lol
