A girl I went to high school with just had a little girl 5 days ago, and she announced the name on facebook today. Hyla Mae. I'm curious what you all think of the name! (Baby is not my child, and mom is an acquaintance, so I will not be offended by your honesty!)

I don"t think I've heard the name Hyla before. Not sure it is to my taste, but i think Mae is cute.

Sounds odd to me. Lyla or Kyla sound so much more complete IMO.

Hyla like Hi - Lah if thats the case I think Hi-yah! like a ninja or "Hi ya Mae. How ya doing?".

Its different, i suppose its quite sweet it does sound a bit like 'hiya' though. Also im not a fan of mae as its really common and chavvy. (My opinion)
