hi everyone :)

i really want a small cute puppy but i dont know which breed to get lol. do you know which breed barks less and is good around people and wont have small dog syndrome? lol any experiences and prices will help a tons!

thanks!:happydance:

Chinese Crested powderpuff (if you don't like the hairless look that is). They can go either way on the barking though. You would have to ask the breeder or observe them for awhile to see if they are a barker. Some are VERY quiet and almost never bark, but some are also barkers. They have very laid back, people pleasing personalities.

thank you and do these have hair sorry didnt really understand that part

i have:) i think my bro has two of those dogs. and youre right they are so cute lol

awww :) what about a pomenarian?? my friend has one and it is so adorable!

do they bark alot? lol i am going to be getting a apartment soon and i dont want to pay the pet deposit:dohh: lol expensive! i will if i have to tho..:haha:

A lot of it depends on how they're raised. We have a Chihuahua for example, a stereotypically 'yappy' dog. But we've taught him not to bark unnecessarily and he's as good as gold.

My MIL has two miniature poodles who never stop barking in comparison. She gives them a biscuit so they'll be quiet and then doesn't understand when I explain that they think she's rewarding them so they'll keep on doing it :dohh:

It's all in the training with most dogs.

Lots of small dogs are yappy. Do research first as small does not equal easy lol x

Ohh I love border Terriers :D Tbh a lot of small dogs are very yappy! lol! xx

My chihuahua is offended that everyone thinks small dogs are yappy :haha:

We have a Yorkie Russell which is a cross between a Yorkshire terrier and a jack Russell. He is very obedient but sometimes his excitement gets the better of him. A lot of small dogs will be yappy and have small dog syndrome. This is my dog ...

My friend has a boxer and wanted a smaller dog so recently bought a cockerbull - it is the cutest dog ever - i want one lol x

Not all small dogs are yappy, just I know some people ar under impression they are easier but they are not always :)

My cousin breeds Pomeranian's and they are stunning little dogs, I will say i think it depends on the dog, as she has 1 dog that hardly ever barks and is really well behaved and then a younger one which is the complete opposite but they are the same breeds only difference ones male and ones female... she also has 2 pure white Pomeranian's she bought into the country (only whites in uk at time she shipped them in) and they are really well behaved also.. They are great dogs but you got to take your pick with them they will either be extremely hyper or really laid back x

I have a pomeranian and he is cute as heck! He is a little vocal when someone knocks on the door, but responds well to "Shut up, Giz!" :) They have LOOOOOTSSS of hair that needs brushing but mine doesn't shed to badly. There isn't a person or animal that my dog doesn't like, although he is territorial, I guess he does have a bit of "small dog syndrome", but he's also a first dog and has 0 training.
Pieces vary, sadly enough I see them in shelters too

I have a shit tzu...gorgeous little dog with a great personality. She's brilliant with LO as well.

Whether a small dog has 'small dog' syndrome really depends how you raise it. Let it think that it's in charge and it will behave as such; I think that the temptation with a cute little dog is to pander to it and treat it like a baby, it then starts to think that it's pack leader and develops a problem personality.

I agree, 100%.

We really did our a dog a huge disservice by letting him get away with everything as a puppy. Thankfully my husband has had a recent chance to be home with the dog (he's not quite 2) and teach him some manners...he's come a long way and we love him, but he's taught us a thing or two about having a dog!
