Cycle and ovulation timing

I am cycle day 20 of a 28 day general cycle. I am 7 dpo. Most tests only allow to test say 5 days before which would make me 12 dpo to start testing. What is everyone else’s cycle like and when shall I test I’m getting so impatient haha xxx

The days before missed period thing is just based on averages. I've seen ladies get their bfps as early as 6dpo all the way up to day of missed af. Just boiled down to a lot of variables and unpredictable factors. I'm a POAS so I start testing at like 5dpo with cheapies and try to hold out on good tests until 9po which is a lie because I'll cave at 7.

I’ve test at 9-10ndpo and negative. I just think is my luteal phase long? I ovulate around cd 12-13 and a 28-30 day cycle. I think I should wait until the 5th when I’m actually due. Fingers crossed! Thanks for replying x x x

Oh well it’s definitely early. Just curious, how are you tracking ovulation? I know a long lp happens, but most ladies I know are 12-14 days. 16-17 days is definitely a bit long. So I’d venture that if your not using opk or bbt or both that you’re ovulating later than you think.

My ovulation tends to occur around CD17...has been like clockwork for years but I’ve never gotten a BFP before 10DPO.

I have been tracking with opks and using clear blue advanced. I have been for a few months tbh. I’ve attached my chart.

Oooo gotcha. Sorry I thought the ? meant you weren’t sure if you had a long lp. I have to be honest, longer lps are not my realm of knowledge. But what I do know is that you’re not out until the witch shows so fxed!

Oh I was asking sorry! I think it is long but not sure if that means anything haha

Oooo I mean. I think like terminology wise it depends. I’ve seen some sources say 16 and up is considered long, but others says it’s still in the average range. It’s still super early. Keep us updated!

I think anything above 16 days is a long luteal phase?

Mine is usually 14 days but that was before having DS3 in November 2018. Since having him (I breastfeed) and DD2 in April last year I have only had 7 cycles (including current one) but I have had my daughter and a miscarriage in between. My LP has been wonky with 7, 10 and 11 days.
I’m currently on 6dpo but possibly 7dpo as although I’m temping and using OPKs I had three/four days of positives and two days of really strong ovulation pains starting on one side then swapping the next day to the other side so I’m not sure if I ovulated twice or if it’s all just thrown off by everything that’s happened (last cycle was a chemical and immediately before that was my mmc).
I tend to start testing early with ICs at like 5dpo but usually save the more expensive tests for if I see a line on a cheapie.
